I just wanted to share something.....not sure if anyone else has ever had this........

I placed my order for my new Cali back in October and am due to collect it tomorrow from Breeze in Poole. Here's the weird thing - instead of being super excited, i'm surprisingly nervous. Honestly not sure why - maybe it's because i've never bought a brand new vehicle in my life, maybe it's because i've never spent so much money on anything (apart from my house), maybe it's because i'm crossing my fingers and hoping that i've made the right decision in buying a camper.

Better you tha....

Just kidding! Super stoked for you mate - congratulations! What time is pickup?! And how far is the drive home?

11am pickup (even happy to collect me from the train station which I think is a nice touch). Only 1.5 hrs back home so not too far. Just need to remember to activate my free 5 day insurance since I arranged for mine to start on 9th!

:D Exciting! Make sure you take a kettle with you to celebrate half way along :D

Does this mean it comes with a gas canister ?
Gas bottle not supplied by dealer

We picked ours up from Breeze 2 years ago and have used it loads. Absolutely love the freedom it gives us to just go away whenever we want, all year round. Off to France again this year in ours for 2 weeks with the dog - he loves it too!

Happy collection day - enjoy the drive home

Would love to take our dog to France, but no idea how to handle vets and border crossing. I remember something about needing to book a vet appointment on the return leg within 24 hours of crossing. Maybe things have changed.....any advice?

We were looking at this for the summer and opted to either not do France this year, or leave the dog with inlaws. It's a right faff with vets 24 hours before going, leaving, worming, yada yada. That said, our dog is so small, they'd have a better time finding illegally imported cheese sandwich.

We were very similar, only had the van since January but absolutely love it!! I am sure today when you see it and experience the drive home you will be thinking why did I not do this earlier!!
Breeze were spot on so happy with the service.
Enjoy your day and look forward to the new journey ;)

I ate all the cheese - and pork pies in the Eurotunnel car park before we went through security but there were no checks at all so your illegal cheese sandwich would probably be safe.

We found taking out boy really easy but a bit expensive.

1) Your dog must have an in date rabies jab
2) You must get an Animal Health Certificate from a UK vet - can be anything from £100 to £250.
3) You must have a worming tablet administered by a French vet no more than 48 hours before you return - we paid about 40 euros. Vet was really good, gave him a full checkover as well.

We took the tunnel - no stress with having to get him out of the van, or leave him alone in there whilst on a ship.

Hardest thing for us was finding food for him. He is raw fed, and you cannot take meat products with you. However, quickly worked out how to get pet mest from the supermarkets - he did not go hungry!

For us, being able to holiday with the dog was a key reason for getting the van - and he loves it (picture while parked up at Portland Bill earlier this year).

At the top end of that price scale, it would be cheaper for us to put the dog into doggie hotel!

Good luck @mintyman - hope it all goes well. I am feeling exactly the same and I’m off to Breeze on the 14/3 by train too from the Midlands

Thank you to all on this forum as it’s been a long term dream to own one and the members and advice on this forum have helped me 100% in my decision, not to mention the 0% from VW

Excited for you

Same to you. Hope it turns out to be everything you hoped for!

I think it is perfectly normal to be nervous about this. It's a big decision and while you wait you look forward to it because you have to wait. But when the moment arrives, it's normal to have cold feet. Luckily for you, most people who buy a Cali turn into very happy Cali-junkies. You'll most likely be no different. Imagine what great times lie ahead for you. All the adventures. Hope your pick-up goes smooth, make sure you relax and enjoy it ;-)

Congratulations ! We collected ours from Breeze last October, great team down there. Enjoy it !

Your comments just took me back to our pick up day from Liverpool to central Scotland, 5 years in May.
Still enjoying our adventures, but reluctant to go down the rabies vaccine route with our pooch for Euro travel.
Enjoy and keep the forum updated with your travels.
Hi from Tavish, he thinks it’s ’his Van’ !
