Ok, my curiosity has surpassed my fear of ridicule.... this came with my Cali, no Idea what / how to use it.

It comes as part of the "smokers pack".

Least useful thing in a Cali. i think mine is stuffed in the door bin and completely inaccessible when driving.

I dunno, the cup holder that doesnt fit anything is pretty high up there.

MCDonalds Movie Cups fit perfectly in the cup holder (and stack nicely)

They can be picked up on auction sites etc.

You should also have got one rubbish bin (similar looking but larger) with the van (see the brochure under 'Cockpit' page 7 or thereabouts). These are sometimes missing and sometimes appear on eBay (coincidence is not correlation as is commonly said these days):

Mine was missing and I ended up buying two (works better with the two of us) off eBay. I got away with around £15 each, though it took a while.

Did you get a VW torch for the 12v socket ?

Those have a habit of turning up on eBay too, I bought a second one that way last year. You can't change the battery so they have a shelf life (if you look to buy watch out for its age); they came with the early Phaetons, in grey, that 2006 one of mine died after 4 years.

Fits my Yeti insulated cup a treat.
These are perfect fit and great for longer journeys (a pint of coffee/tea), the upper section is proud of the dash, but that makes them easy to handle when driving:

They charge by plugging into the 12v cigarette lighter socket !

Thats the one. Mine is mint green which contrasts nicely with the flat grey

Fits nicely in the centre cup holder & acts as a depository for all the accumulated loose change.
I've never managed to get a full cup out of that holder without tipping half the contents on the floor.
