We’ve taken the plunge on a 16 plate Cali Ocean. Only done two nights away but getting the hang of things slowly.

So many questions and the forum is great for finding answers. We had an issue on the first trip which turned out to be a broken pipe leading to the EGR valve, what were the odds?

I will be asking some daft questions soon, like how do you swivel the drivers chair without releasing the handbrake?

Until then - Happy camping everyone!

Welcome - best colour in my opinion.
Swivelling drivers seat, you can't do it without releasing hand brake.
Quick tip. when parking up on reasonably level ground - put gearbox in P while depressing footbrake - take footbrake off and apply handbrake.
When you come to swivel seat just release handbrake and swivel seat and reapply handbrake. there should be minimal to no vehicle movement.

Welcome :) Fellow T6 here - cracking choice.

RE Bungee chord - make sure it's not too tight, as it can cause the bellows to pop out from the corners. If you close the roof as per the manual, you shouldn't ever have a need for one. As you're outside of warranty, you wont have a scoobies of getting VW to fix it, and a proper fix is a replacement of the bellows (as the metal teeth that tether it in break).

Welcome And enjoy your Cali. Our first outing was such a learning curve but as time goes on you’ll wonder what you worried about. Even your dog is a matching colour now that’s what I call co-ordination

Thanks. We went for manual gearbox so I guess pop it in 1st? I will practice on the driveway!

Excellent colour and the MOT history is great with pass every time and no advisories at all, should be a keeper.
What is the Gizmo on the drivers door? if magnetic watch for metal particles on the magnet scuffing the paint.
If a regular feature may need a piece of paint protection film.
