Cali is currently at the detailers. He asked if I wanted the (ugly) sticker taking off but it seems to be a requirement reading on here? If he does remove it, could it be reapplied on the rear window, which would look much better?

Only required for German registered vehicles and has to be renewed on a regular basis I believe. No requirement for UK registered vehicle.

Wow that was quick, thanks both :)
The only problem with removing it - it will leave a discoloured patch there, which will remind you of the existence of the sticker every time you look at that place ;)

I’m hoping the detailer will sort that. He ought to, it’s costing enough!

It comes off quite easy tbh. I removed mine as it expired, and I just stuck it in the wardrobe.

Took mine off and put on the rear window as will travel to Germany at some point and revisit some of our old haunts from living there as a pad brat and a squaddie. Looked online and saw nothing that said it had to be in that specific location.

2 year lifespan as shown on sticker. Denotes tested similar to UK Habitation check for Caravans etc.

I'm glad it can be removed. Mine was placed upside-down and it messes with my head.
I havent seen one yet that is logically orientated...mines sideways on...i think they do it in the factory just for a laugh! :)

Small point slightly off topic. It is recommended to change the gas flexible hose every 5 years and the presure regulator every 10 years. The year off their manufacture is printed on these items.

Thanks for the info.

After an accident we got our gas system checked at a caravan centre and they insisted we needed a big diamond shaped sticker on the outside of the tailgate to indicate the location of the canister and another on the outside of the unit which houses it. They were very insistent that they had to do it.

Different legislation for caravans v campervans perhaps?

Not sure about the legislation, but for a couple of pounds for the two appropriate stickers, it surely makes sense?
Motorhomes usually have gas lockers marked with the "flame" symbol.
