Hi everyone,
How do you track your route in the campervan. Do you know any apps you can recommend?

What are you look to track, if costs, mileage etc I use a spreadsheet. Going to try the new Apple journal app on this years travels to capture memories.

I use the app called Road Trip to log fuel consumption and service costs. Works well for me!

If @louipedersen is looking for a map type tracker, we’d also be interested. It would be great to have a record of a tour’s wanderings. At the moment we try and remember to take at least one photo for every stop - and use Apple iPhoto to recall where we’ve been. It sounds daft, like - ‘ you don’t know where you’ve been?!’. But if you do a number of trips a year, every year, it kind of mashes together in your (my) memory!! Definitely a First World problem ;) .

Great app. If you take photos it drops those into the trip as well. Simple version is free.
Strava will do it I’m sure.

I use Esplorio. Similar to Polarsteps, but with greater detail in the mapped route. Makes for a great memory of trips for yourself, and allows sharing with friends and family during the trip.

We have used Track My Tour for a number of years now and would recommend it. It allows you to create waypoints as you go which you follow on a map, you can then add in photos and write short notes/comments. You can send links to family and friends who can follow your travels in real time image_123650291.JPG

If you have google maps on your phone (and location enabled) you should be able to interrogate your route afterwards. Photos taken on the phone or uploaded to google drive will automatically be located along the route via timestamps. Google will probably create an automatic 'memory' of the trip for you.

We use Polarsteps too, it can be a bit flaky but is great for tracking your route and adding photos and a diary of your trip

I'm using Polarsteps for my travel diary, but I have an old iPhone running MyTracks, which is far more precise. Polarsteps has some serious issues with tracking. When you are parked, it will continue tracking all the deviations in GPS signal, resulting in a spiderweb of track points that you have to edit/delete by hand.

Find penguins app on phone , as well as tracking route can add photos

Day One journaling app works well for me. Records weather conditions by default and does a nice export to pdf which you can filter by tags. No live sharing though.
