Cali spare wheel

Hello, just joined the club and I’m also in the process of buying a T6 2019 Cali 4motion ocean. One thing puzzles me, there is no spare 17inch cascavel wheel under the vehicle. The previous owner says the Polish dealer could not supply it because it ‘does not fit’ if the vehicle is 4WD, is this true? If it fits I would like to buy a spare wheel, what’s the best place to do this, dealer? Thank you for reading my post

It does fit on a 4 motion. I fitted one to mine about 3 weeks ago.

If you were in the uk I could point you in the direction of someone who does a brand new 17" steel spare + bracket & fixings for £200.

The club shop does the bracket & somewhere like ebay is better for a wheel.

The reason that its not supplied is because the additional weight of the spare would impact the vans emissions rating / fuel consumption - VW are 'experts' in tweaking the most out of emissions ratings!

Also, you will also be reducing the payload of the van by fitting a spare as you are adding more weight..however in my opinion a spare is essential especially on a 4 motion as you are more likely to be off the beaten track.

Its possibe to fit the spare carrier retrospectively. Spare wheels can be found on ebay etc.

second that it fits on a 4motion. Polish vehicles, like others, when supplied with anything other than 17" rims do not come with a spare, but factory 17" should normally do. Mine came with 18" rims and had to buy the kit. I bought a spare when I ordered new rims and tyres in steel from a local supplier, easy enough to do, and sourced the bracket from ebay.

In France you can get wheel & tyre from Tyreleader.
They no longer supply wheels to UK - the cost of Brexit.

Wheel shown is correct - ignore the vehicle details.

Hi Andy, I am planning a trip to the UK in June. Can you let me know where I can source the wheel and bracket etc. In the UK? It seems much cheaper than France! Thank you, Joe
