On the advice of previous forum member, Hotel California, we took a trip to VW Campercentrum near Amersfoort when in the Netherlands recently. They specialise in VW Californias/ Grand Calis/ Caddy Californias and the showroom is such a fun place to visit, with lots of vans and accessories available to check out.

What a place and the staff are really great - they were so friendly and welcoming.

There were so many Calis and even more outside, including a very special one which I’ll follow up in a separate post.

Love the shoe box ! I have one !
Dislike the solar stick on… asking for trouble

You could have made a few quid buying those waste bins that sit in the floor behind the passenger seat.

With postage and import taxes they are 72€ each in the UK. Best bin ever.

Your eBay account would be on fire I’m sure.

And here is the special Cali I mentioned. A T6 Ocean which has had a high top conversion (I believe this costs circa €10k).

Unfortunately this is the only photo I got as we spent so much time inside the Campercentrum and were then late heading to our campsite.

Did you add the embellishment? Where to get that edge piping?

Really useful. Somewhere to put the crocs and has a charging point :thumb
Received the Shoeboxx. I opted for the DIY kit without realising it comes with ugly silver Philips head bolts. So I will need to get a few black SS fittings. I also sourced the protective piping. It comes from a German company called Eutras. 14 euro for 3m. Looks identical to yours in a silver grey colour.

Sorted.
It’s so useful.
Get a switch as well, so you can turn off the blue voltage display at night.
Although I like it, it’s cool right !

Storing my trainers and crocs in, is brilliant.
No more dropping them out onto wet grass.
Love it.

just FYI: Thread 'Tips and tricks & info. What I can share after a day at Camper Centrum Amersfoort, The Netherlands.'

So been there also (just not on the advice of the previous member you refer to: long gone, but apparently not yet forgotten by you :D) but with some other Belgian cali enthusiasts.
Among other things, I bought the trash can (super thing that you can also click into the rail of the kitchen unit; they come in different sizes) and the net on the tailgate.
Great people over there!

Looks great, tempted. A couple of questions please. Is the box positively attached to the van? If not, does it fall/tip when you open the door? Does the box's USB just plug into the 12v socket under the right hand side of the bench seat? Thanks.

The Shoeboxx is secured by a velcro strap that ties onto a point nearby on the Cali interior. There are also Velcro strips that secure the unit to the step and floor higher up. As for 12V accessory question I didn't opt for that option as it was a 25 euro upcharge (pun intended). It plugs into the 12V socket near the bench seat.

I have no luggage lug to attach the Shoeboxx to, so mine is purely held by two floor mount Velcro strips, which work faultlessly.
I’ve had to do some sharp braking, and it’s not shifted. Even with two pairs of crocs inside.
