2 Tone Options

Hi I really want the a wrap on my potential new Ocean but the colour base vans are either Mojave Beige, Ascot Grey or Fontana Red but want to wrap the bottom half. Any suggestions on colours that would compliment? or anyone with pictures?

Having seen lots of vans in Ascot Grey, I’d definitely say it’s the easiest colour to coordinate with. Practically any colour will go. Plus, the neutral colour is good to have around the door openings which won’t be wrapped.

Just check you’re okay re insurance. Some companies won’t touch wrapped vans.

Pretty much my favourite combo..Looks great.

Thats upside down, the OP wants to keep the top half grey & wrap the bottom....

I would just go for Fortuna red & instead of wrapping go for the sports pack, the extra black details, darker tint to the windows & black wheels make a big difference to the appearance.

It’s the right way up. Top half is Ascot Grey, bottom half moss green wrap……..

You are right I was thinking of the red, I can’t think of anything that would look right on the bottom with a red top.

Normally the lighter colour is top and the dark below but wrapping the top is a pain and more costly.
I would go with a Fortuna Red van (then at least then if your bored of the wrap you have a desirable colour anyway to go back to) and either a dark metallic grey or black base wrap as both those will compliment each other.
The original T1 and the new multivan have a factory optioned black/red combo, so it will just be the opposite way around.

Best to check that your insurers are happy with "modifications".

I bought our 21reg Ocean from a VW commercial dealer and saw in the showroom the paint choices on the wall so got the bottom half sprayed in Viper green.
Get a lot of ‘thumbs up’ on my travels and easy to spot when I am parked…

Investigated a half wrap recently, a year after getting our (Candy White) van last summer. Checked with insurance first, to get an idea of cost implication. Our broker could only found one insurer who would consider it, and that was coming out at double our insurance for the year (about £780 rather than £350 I think it was, and coverage wasn’t as good in other ways).

Apparently, part of the problem is the fact that new vans are valued over £50k - there’s a lot more insurers who’ll consider it when the value of the camper is below that.

So wrapping older vans won’t be as much of an issue.
