End of Cali production?

Does anyone know when VW will stop production of the California as we know it?
Plus what is the likely replacement to be? Multivan, Buzz?

Loads of threads and posts on this; short answer, probably next year and probably based on the multivan (along with the other variants, e.g. Caddy, ID Buzz etc.).

T6.1 production will terminate June or July next year at the latest.

I have been informed that the existing California production will continue for the moment. When it is phased out it will be replaced by the Multivan.

I had a look at the Multivan at Camperjam and was quite impressed. The cabin is a bit smaller, but this was compensated for by the seats which were much less bulky. You could unclip the seats and reverse them, rather than swivel - but they were lighter and more compact.
All seats could unclip so you could re-arrange to suit (although not sure what the arrangement would be with the California). Interestingly..... I was also informed that the new California would feature twin sliding doors as well as the kitchen - although there were no details given (or known by the dealer). This would be a big plus for me.

Well worn question with, at this moment in time, no firm answers.

For the first question the consensus seems ”soon” given Transporter production has already stopped.

For the second, most of us are split on the T7 or the Transporter replacement (which from VW documents last year is not a T7 per sey but a shared platform with Ford).

Indications seem the former so far (although I hold out for a better answer), which means….

…go buy the last decent Cali you can get your hands on as soon as you can.
