Looking for advice from the dog owners on the site please.

We collected out new Cali today and we are planning for black leather seats with the view they will be robust and easy clean, which is what we want because of the dog.

Before we go ahead I was wondering what other dog owners do to protect the seats?

Don’t let the dog on the seats?
Lovely van, enjoy!

Cheers re van

As for dog I am afraid we lost that battle and he just bounces around. So I want to think about plan B whilst working on the obedience.

We have the VW waterproof covers which do a good job of protecting the seats. However, they do look a bit We are looking for an alternative leather/ pleather option...

Kurgo seat hammock cover (blue/silver reversible), fold the bottom half up when you don’t need it then you don’t have to sit on it when wet etc. Costs about £50CC5E4642-0318-4DE8-9639-61A21D549309.jpeg

We have Inka waterproof in ours.

Leather is ok and easy to clean, but you will eventually end up with scratch marks which will hold dirt. 'Pleather' is a better choice.

We have 2 Beagles, got these from the club shop, been in the van 3+ years, very pleased with them. Expensive but good quality and look great.

yes I have seen the covers but ideally I want to the seats to look nice in line with the rest of the van

your the second person today to talk about the scratches. I will research pleather

yes they look nice, are they easy to fit?
If you go posh then look into the kurgo hammock to go on top, hooks round head rests and if you leave the back clip off very easy to roll up or remove when you want to sit on seat

Absolutely agree with you there - having a £70k vehicle with shitty looking seats does annoy me somewhat...

We've had the Inka waterproof seat covers for years.
They do a great job, they've had a hard life with 2 wet muddy dogs and still look like new.
However, they're not much to look at and are a bit 'skiddy' for the dogs, if you throw a blanket over them it tends to slide off.

I should go with the leather type seat covers, they look nice, but if I were spending almost a grand on seat covers I'd want seat covers over the seat covers to protect the seat covers:D

I've got urban camo Turtle Covers in the front & the Aldi version of the car hammock in the back.

I've said it before. Whoever specified the seat fabric in the Coast never travelled with dogs or small children. Decent hoover and industrial strength upholstery cleaner gets rid of most of it.

Great choice, we hope you are as happy with them in 3+ years as we are with ours
Only just got around to fitting them .

Look nice , feel like good quality .

The process of fitting for me was more than fiddly .
I fully acknowledge I am not handy in any way with cars, diy etc (just not my thing) but I just found the instructions from the supplier really really poor

All done now though , sun is out and now it’s time to get out and about in the Van
