My 2014 California is due an MOT soon, the exhaust has lost its outer skin and the inner is getting quite corroded, not leaking yet so would pass an MOT.

I've decided to replace it with an OEM one now rather than waiting on it failing, which according to sods law would be in some remote place in Europe when I'm on holiday.

I will get my local mechanic to fit one supplied by TPS.

Can anyone help long me to somewhere I can find the correct OEM part numbers for the complete system, with a diagram would be helpful. I'd like to make sure the parts are ordered in good time for the work being undertaken.

Thanks in anticipation.

Ask on the T6 Forum, there are folks who have access to the parts system on there.

They don't make em like they used to.
I was advised to cut off the corroded outer skin on the back box
2 yrs ago. Still going strong now, 265,000kms original one.

Good to hear, not sure if you have as much winter road salt as we do in Scotland, my exhaust inner skin does not look great.

The original exhaust on my 2005 Ocean had similar corrosion holes on the outer and some rust on the inner. Rather than put up with the sword hanging over my head I replaced the entire assembly with a stainless steel 'cat back' setup from UK company Milltek. No more costly than factory, less weight, bigger pipe and no more rust concerns. Quiet unit, much nicer dual tips, easy install on factory points. https://travelinlite-transporters.co.uk/collections/t5/products/t5-t5-1-t6-milltek-exhaust-system

That system looks OK but will have a significant effect on the rear departure angle so would be prone to damage on some of the routes I’ve travelled.

Thank for that info, does it come with both silencer boxes?

Welshgas, I initially had a similar concern, but after 10,000 kms through Baja Mexico and some rough pitches and ditches I had no problems on it hanging up anywhere, although I would assuredly not want to be going the same routes with a lowered 'coil over' setup.

That's why I got the PP Tuning stainless system with the downturn outlet 1676760436303.png

No, it comes with a single silencer box and the dual tail pipes are built as perforated glaspacks. Overall the system is as quiet as stock or better. The pipes are also 2.75" in place of stock 2.5", less back pressure overall. Came with all stainless clamps and fittings. Easy, exact fitment.

I tried to source an OEM system from TPS but they could not supply so went for the Miltek stainless steel cat back system with the discrete tail pipe, Miltek Part No SSXVW201-6.

They only supply through a network, I used Autohaus Edinburgh supplied and fitted for £603.00.

As quiet as the OEM system, very happy with that.

I have the Milltek stainless steel cat back non resonated system with the twin tail pipe end piece. Very happy with look and sound of system, cheaper than the VW exhaust too. Because there is less back pressure, the engine seems more responsive too.

Much cheaper for sure.
