I've been tasked with getting the rather dull standard seat covers replaced with something something a bit more upmarket
So leather seems to be the obvious choice.
I've looked on-line and there seems to be lots of options available but ideally I would like to go to a company with a good solid reputation.
So does anyone have any recommendations please?
Thanks in advance!
Mike

Hi Mike, seatskinz are well recommended, they have recently done a 680, pics were on their social media page.

This was the 680 they did, of course there are many colour/style combinations. I emailed them for some info and they were very responsive.

Would be nice to see photos Mike if you go for DKS

Is that is a re-trim rather than covers?
It is a full retrim , complete replacement of original covers. (Original covers handed back to me in a box)

there was an option to add VW golf sport seat side balusters to create a Reccaro style sport seat, but I decided against that option.

map pockets in rear of front seats, fully air bag compliant with tags and iso fix tags.

full retrim is not much more than decent covers, without the hassle of fitting.

the design opportunities are endless

I've spoken to Rob at DKS and it sounds as though they know exactly what they are doing, so I'm going to go with them.
We just need to choose the colour and design now (thanks for the links above!).
Our van is the grey and silver two tone and we're thinking a shade of blue with contrasting stitching with a design similar to the attached pic.
I'll keep you updated..

ooooh, i would love fancy leather seats. maybe late next year. How long will it take to have them fitted out of interest?

Look forward to seeing what you end up with :)

Around 4 hours - I'll have to get the map out to figure out where exactly Colchester is though

Some other practical things to consider

Do you want map pockets in rear of seat(s) stitching can replicating the seat design / colour & add a splash of colour to an otherwise drab seat back
thread Colour can have a dramatic effect on overall design and can tie in an overall theme

needle punched seats panels inserts / headrests can add another design dimension, they allow heated seats to warm up more quickly And regulate heat better during warmer weather.
(the needle punching doesn’t hold or trap dirt)

edit: the Bentley stitch as in your picture looks superb with needle punching

piped edging can wear at a disproportionate rate to the leather seat (where seats get heavy wear (ask DK for a professional opinion ) such as driver / passenger seat edge where you get in / out of the van

ask for leather samples, take them outside into natural light and see how much the colour changes in natural light vs electric light (inside) & take the colours you choose into the van, you may be surprised how your perception of a particular colour changes when seen in natural light or in the van.

lets us see your finished article

Fitting for a 7 seat beach took less than a day.

all seat come out of the van.

normal manufacturing lead time is about a week from order to fitting. (More in covid times)

their unit is Tucked away in a Small industrial estate in Stanway, near a Sainsbury’s super store, on the outskirts of Colchester.

walking distance to Town along the main route or a short bus ride (whichever suits).

Thank you - you've been very helpful

And btw my wife has said a firm NO to blue and in my imagination I'd thought we'd already agreed that

I must admit that I've totally fallen in love with these - but I bet they would be totally impractical in a 680

We had ours done at Trimtechnik in Birkenhead. They also did the front door inlays.0430FC45-1720-4CF7-A405-E216D889F13B.jpeg66A2AAA4-E632-4573-AF14-8BC333441B4F.jpeg
