had my cali ocean 3 years now 199ps dsg and it cuts out on too many occasions with no faults logged its always on the motorway with foot off the accelarator with e gear selected so its going to idle while going down hill there is no warning other than re start engine this van is trying to kill me . ive spoken to numerous dealers who have said no fault no problem ! i thought it might be stop start but no still does it same last week end twice in 10 mins once on hard shoulder didnt run on all 4 cylinders left for a minute fired up perfectly one of these days it will get me its pretty dangerous to say the least ive now turned e gear facility off ive considerd pressure regulator on the rail i have vcds no faults on the van it does seem to be a fueling issue im sure there must be other people having this issue as you can imagine its get to hard shoulder as soon as im not getting far with vw as there are no faults logged there must be somebody knows what is causing this any help on this would be very nice

Could be Fuel pump, they are known to break down causing tiny bits of swarf to clog injectors.
Do you get an issues when starting ? Rough starting / idling / turning over and not firing up ?

the only real test for the HPFP is by the dealer, they have to get a bit of kit from VW to carry out the test (or at least my dealer did) basically they hook the vans fuel lines upto a machine & let it run through a filter , then visually assess what is in The filter:
swarf visible = new HPFP and whole new fuel delivery system including injectors (Big ouch)
No swarf = no action.

mine was cycled through twice, first time was clear , but I had had issues for a while and been to dealer before with the issue of bad starting,so dealer asked me if they could run the test again, obvs said yes, second time dealer noted very small bits of swarf in the filter (fortunately the remedial work was carried out under warranty).

As a temporary measure, is yours of the age where you can disable coasting in the menus?

Yer mine has done 13000 miles it did this the day i bought it i spoke to listers about this issue hence im now supposedly out of warranty now yes to the answer the e gear is switchable and ive switched it off and as yet has not done it all seems well goes too fast really this cutting out comes when u least expect and yes fully aware of fuel pump particles i wonderd if this might be getting into fuel pressure regulator also would it not flag low fuel pressure in vcds but ive taken your thoughts on board and thankyou for your thoughts on it

Your welcome
mine with a failing HPFP threw no fault codes, nor lights, initially I think the dealer did not believe my explanation & the rough starting issues, but I took several videos to show it happening.
if (and it is an if) the pump is breaking down the whole fuel system from tank to injectors will potentially be contaminated.
common Rail works on Massively high fuel pressure, (200 bar)
waste / unused fuel from the Common rail is returned to the fuel tank and is recirculated back to the tank, which is why the remedial measures once diagnosed is to replace everything fuel has come into contact with (except the fuel tank which is removed from the van and is washed out).

Injectors clogging is a result of this issue & maybe where you need to start, by having the injectors checked / tested.

2 Threads on the T6 forum but on T6.1 150’s.

If Listers say there's nothing wrong with it, get yourself signed up to the ALL-IN warranty/vw Assist/servicing scheme. Give it a month & then go & find a better dealer.

Also worth having a look on the T6 forum

Yep, T6 Forum is great for technical stuff, always had lots of help.
