Hello one and all.

Has anyone fitted curtians to the rear of the van, side windows etc. I think they could be quite nice, easy to open a small crack to peer out etc. And a bit more cosy.

Can't say I've ever seen them in a Cali. For us would defeat the object of the built in blinds, and when I've seen them on conversions they just look untidy, IMO.

You would be better adding throws, rugs crochet blanks etc.
I’ve had sewn on the fabric cali front curtain a map towel of Brecon Beacons (there’s pics on here somewhere).
I did have a crochet blanket hooked up on the ceiling cable tied to the wooden upper bed struts on my old Cali,
There’s the pixer thing you can add them tables cupboards, loads you can do to brighten up that grey interior. There was a thread going on it.

I used to have them on my T2 - they were 70’s funky and and made it quite homely, which happened to work for me as I lived in it for nearly a year. Curtains seem to have lost their popularity a little now though and many homes favour blinds although there may be a reversal as we shift towards being more energy efficient.

I have one on the sliding door side which can be closed when the door is open. The blind on this door area only comes half way down but the curtain comes to the floor. It is also easier to go out of the door using the curtain than having to pull up the blind. The sliding door blind is also not the easiest to use as it sometimes moves out of the channel.

When parked in the sun it is pulled across before closing door. Having put down other binds and screen on front. I often use the sliding door to get out of the van rather than the drivers door having done the blinds. Better in car parks and I can pick up shopping bags and jacket on route. Also being short I find the step put of the side door better for me.

When at a campsite I do use the curtain to peer out.

That sounds interesting. Could you please tell us a bit more about how you have fitted the curtain?

I put a brandup towel rail across the top of the door and used a curtain I already had and just used curtain hooks. It does not go all the way over to the pilar buy could be tired back. I only have one but you could use 2 to go each way. I do not have any photos at present. I am currently in an apartment and my van is parked in a garage a little walk away, I will take some pictures next time I go to it.

I thought I had used curtain hooks but I had used these carabiners. I have now taken some pictures.
