Good evening all...I was just wondering what the general opinion is about leaving the rolling out front window blinds open for a long period , say three weeks, in other words unrolled .

Perhaps someone in the club has done this ?
 
IMO it would make more sense to go for an external cover? Like the one from Brandrup? However I guess you thought about that too.

Agree, I use the external Brandrup and although silly money for what they are they are a lot less hassle to fit than the internal silver screen type.
 
If you don't need access to the vehicle for those 3 weeks, you could just get a vehicle cover.
 
At £6.99 for a cheap internal blind, it's got to be a "no brainer " as the expression goes. I just would want to save any possibility of prolonging sunlight on the VW ones. They are designed for use at night.
 
We used to use one of those cheap split-cane beach mats that you buy at the seaside - you can unroll it and it stands inside the windscreen - stiff enough not to sag - hold it in place with the sun visors.

I agree. Anyone who has been in a hot climate knows internal blinds will serve to heat up the interior of the Cali. External silver is best, although packing when wet is an issue & i agree that the Brandrup one is good but expensive...

This shouldn’t be a problem, they are built to be open and close, albeit our have been replaced under warranty because the material was fraying at one the top of the anchor holders

Yes we use the external Isolite outdoor by default (in stead of the internal window screens) during our entire stay at each site. Totally fine.

The Brandrup isolites have been good, granted not £6.99
