No but I ordered a one of these with a cinch tent today - apparently delivery is early July so I’ll have to wait a while to try it out! Looks good tho

Yep that’s where I got mine from - couldn’t resist with the free connector!

They do look a good, easy and light bit of kit, what size connector did you get for the cali and what colour, green or stone & what other Cinch options did you go for?

Was at the NEC Camping & Motorshow today and if you bought Cinch pop up tent for £299 you get the connector for free (normally £179)...looked really good and just the right size...we were really tempted :)
I assume they had it on display? Can’t see much info about it online. Pretty quick and simple to assemble and dissemble?

Looks pretty simple online but No, I didn't see it on display as they didn't have a Van with the display stuff...I have asked the question online what was the material at the edge of the door opening to prevent scuffing of paint? Ill let you know if I get a response or @CaliforniaDreamer may have asked questions as ordered yesterday? :)

Hi no I didn’t think to ask about the material sorry! Only the stone colour was on display and it looked nice so we went for that (our Cali is white and bronze). The smaller height connector is the one for Cali size vans. The cinch website is apparently being launched officially in the next couple of weeks so all the information will be added - they apologised at the moment there is not much on there. Earliest delivery is July so hoping it comes in time for summer hols!

Forgot to add we got the cheaper groundsheet aswell - the padded ‘carpet’ one looked really nice but the thin one fits easily into the tent bag. Didn’t get any more accessories but may add the solar thing and lantern at a later date if needed. Everything looked really nice quality.

This is an updated version of the hugely popular Quechua tent that was sold by Decathlon. My Quechua is easy to put up and relatively easy to ‘pop’ down. It stows away easily in the circular bag. They have discontinued the tent and second hand ones sell well on eBay. Mine has seen some fun.
@California Dreamer or @OxonCalifornia did they have a code you can use online if you don’t order at the show?

No I don’t think there was a code, sorry I think it was just a show offer but I believe they are offering 10% off via the website

Thank you. I think you can get an interior bedroom too for the Cinch?

Yes that’s right - didn’t see it at the show tho.

Thanks , really useful, we too will only use the basic groundsheet as will use it more as a day room..we may get the storage extension as could use as place for the toilet and in the future the canopy extension looked good. My only concern at the moment is the 86cm diameter packed up as this is larger than the rear storage area with the seats back on the ocean. I have contacted them as they said it is a bit soft and can be a bit pliable...if not we will have to pull bench seat forward a bit during transit...ideally for cali 75 would be good :)

Good point! We will experiment with the best way to carry it when it arrives - possibly with bench seat a few inches forward and slot it behind.

We have a Quechua Base Seconds, same collapsed diameter as the Cinch Hub, we store it horizontally beneath the bedding between the back seat (fully back) and the T6 tailgate, with no issues. It squashes slightly to fit, no damage to the vehicle. Lots of questions from fellow campers re the much admired Base Seconds.
Thanks. Need to put the Quechua up and measure it then message the Cinch people to see if it is compatible.
We have the Cinch groundsheet with the Base Seconds it is a generous fit inside the Seconds Base. The side walls on our groundsheet are about 30Cm tall. IIRC ours can be attached to the walls with 'velcro'.

Thanks - thats really useful to know and an alternative to the storage under the rear multiplex board. we have ordered to and that was my only concern which has just been addressed. Like @CaliforniaDreamer we just saw it and thought that will work really well - gone for the stone colour too :)

We love our Cinch. So easy to put up, and not difficult to put down once you've got the hang of it.
I hear the bright green attracts insects, so can recommend the stone (esp if you have an Ascot grey Cali).
I'm not sure about the connector though - I like to open the door and see/be outside, not sute I need to be straight into the Cinch which we use for storing stuff and bikes.
Like the look of the canopy though, as a bit of a shelter. Can't tell if it has a door on the front - presume not...

Have doubts about the 180 - 200 height structure as will be taller than the Cali and also the in situ van awning. Don’t want the rain coming in between the connector and the van!
Having said that it makes my Quecha a driveaway instead of a tent! To be fair we always pull the van awning out to meet the tent and it’s only been a problem once or twice.

Decoded to order one and if it doesn’t work, can always return it!
10% not calculating on website, but done manually after an email.

Thanks for this - I tend to agree so probably would have got hub without the connector if I was buying online but as it was free I thought it might come in handy at some point! The guys at the show were certain that the smaller height would be right for a Cali but they didn’t have a van there to check.
