Hello everyone. We have a T5.1 camper conversion, but are looking at a newish T6.1 California Coast in silver on Sunday.
What should we be looking out for when we visit the dealer?
Also what accessories are essential?
A couple of questions as well. What cup holders do you use in the rear when driving? How do you mount/store your TV?
I'm sure there will be a lot more questions to come.

Welcome to this great forum.
Nice! I’ve just written another post saying I’ve never seen a silver 6.1 California … good to know they are out there.
I would raise the roof and check the rear of the front spoiler for rust.
The inside of the base of the B-pillars will indicate how well it’s been looked after (the seat scrapes the plastic trim if not well-adjusted).
Check the table in the door has its wobble-adjusting foot attached - easily lost.
There are a few cup holders available for the rear of a 6.1 including these neat jobs that fold away. Don’t be fooled by T6 alternatives - different channel design at the top of the cabinet.
We use a Nebula projector rather than a TV. It’s the size of a drinks can and gives a good image projecting onto the blind behind the hob, sat on the bench seat table.
Good luck on Saturday. Enjoy the process and grill the salesman/woman

Check the table in the door has its two wobble-adjusting feet attached - easily lost.

Thank you for all the great information, hints and tips. Will definitely use it at the weekend.

You get a cup holder that fits in the kitchen rail with the van. You could get stick on cup holders to stick on fridge top or hob. You only get 1 adjuster on table leg.3 legged tables never wobble.
Accessories is personal to you but obviously you will need 907 gas bottle and hook up cable. The rest you need to figure out. Do a search here and prepare for lots of reading . Good luck

Apologies yes one table leg adjuster, not two

Well we've only gone and bought it! Had a good look round. Everything appeared to be in order apart from a tiny dent in the tailgate, which the dealer will fix. A tailgate bike rack is also going to be fitted. Driving it is like night and day compared to our T5.1 conversion.
Collecting it a week on Saturday as we going on holiday on Friday.
So excited, yet scared as this is the most we have spent on a vehicle.

Lovely van. The adventures await. Enjoy.

Insurance, where does everyone go? Our T5.1 is with JustKampers. But is there a 'go to' company?

i tried getting a quote from just kampers, I used to insure my t4 camper with them, but they were really pricey for me on my 2014 California. In the end I went with comfort, they were a similar level of cover to just kampers, with proper motor home cover etc. and about 40% cheaper.

no tv just an ipad, does everything on one device, mind you its a big one.........no cup holders in the back but i do have grippy bar matts that seem to do the trick

Next question is solar and WiFi. What does everyone do, or have? We have both in our current camper, but being a posh Cali, are there specific solar panels for it? Slso we use a WiFi dingle, but is there a better, more powerful solution?
Thanks in advance for the answers and advice.
