Hello everyone! I have just bought a 2018 California Ocean. It doesn‘t have a power cable; can anyone suggest what I should be buying? Length etc or are they all standard? Thanks!

25m. Store it out the way in the engine bay by the battery compartment.

I have a 25m one. A pain to unravel but not that much and as soon as you learn to use the winder, quick to get back in.

I know some like to have a 10 and 15, see post #5 but I read some sites don't allow connections, so just kept with a 25.

Hey guys
Thanks 25m it is then and thanks for the storage tip

only little yellow vested hitlers moan about them connected together. probably all at the CAMC. i've never had anyone complain to me about doing it,but then i don't use CAMC

I have the cable, retro EHU hookup & a couple of adaptors stowed in battery bay.

I managed to squeeze in around battery compartment
Hook up cable
Jump leads (just in case)
Ground sheet 4m x 4m
Wood block (to put under jack foot on soft/loose ground to spread load)
Door mat
Small Towel
Pack of nitrile gloves if a job is messy
And the bonnet shuts easily!!

They look fine for providing power to a tent, but you would need a further lead to get from the socket end of one of them to the van.
If used on a Caravan club site expect a lively discussion with a warden & no electricity from that point on......
It works for me, I put the cable reel under the rear of the van and connect
with the Vw supplied cable.
Any warden who would have a problem with this would have to be corrected.

I had 30m cable. Could reach everywhere, but 90% of times I had the power outlet near me. So I bought a male and female EEC plug and socket, and divided it into 10m+20m. Very happy with the choice, and both cables are stored above the battery compartment in the engine bay, very convenient.

only the engine temperature is always near melting point! :D
I'm joking! How did you manage to fit all that ? Would you have a chance to take a picture ?

Will do tomorrow morning, having monsoon season in Cumbria tonight ⛈

25 metres for me - it’s worked in sites all over Europe - never had a problem reaching the power source. Fits into a zipped nylon bag. Trick is to learn to hold it in one hand and wind up with the other with loops that will fit into bag. If you’re travelling in Europe, you’ll need a continental adaptor plug as well.

We have one of these going to the driveaway awning.

Then one of these from the driveaway awning to the van.

We also have 15m and 25m hookup leads, but only because at the time of ordering I forgot that I was supposed to be getting 10m and 15m!

No one want to open the 1.5mmsq/2.5mmsq can of worms debate? Arctic cable perhaps?

How about the elusive Swiss plug adapter?
