What’s the most powerful hand torch money can buy ?
rechargeable and is cree lens still the one to have ?

Depends what you mean by handheld. My definition is something you can then stick in your pocket…. I have this one - it’s decent at 15000 lumens and takes rechargeable 18650s. Not the cheapest at £300 but if you want a decent torch you’ve got to knock the cobwebs off your pockets.

Nice. ! 300 dosharoonies is a bit long for me…
I was looking at the
OLIGHT Marauder Mini Rechargeable 7000 Lumens
Not bad for £141 AliExpress from China…

How bright do you need? I have one of these for mountain biking at night and bring it with us in the van too. It has different brightness settings - I find 1500 lumens too bright for most uses except mountain biking through forests in pitch dark.

But does it play the theme from close encounters of the third kind?

Olight are a good brand from what I gather so you should get a quality product. Price seems pretty good and 7k lumens is more than decent. With the various power modes I rarely crank mine up to 15k - the feature I particularly like on mine is being able to switch from spot to flood. I use mine for photography - not so much getting to a location as I use a head torch for that but for lighting painting buildings and things in the dark, which it does well.

Hi I went for the Olight Warrior 2 - excellent power and I wanted something small enough to put in my pocket.
