The long wait is over.

We ordered our Ocean on 27th April 2021 and I collected him last Thursday 9th June 2022. If there was one "could have been worse" element in the story it's that the price I negotiated at the time of ordering was honoured. So fair play to Clark Commercials Aberdeen.

Living on Shetland makes things "interesting". Having been advised that delivery to the dealer was expected within the week, it was nearly three weeks before I could get space on the ferry to get us both home. The joys of island life!

We're actually Cali returners following eight years away and more than one change in our needs and circumstances. Interesting, of course, to see how the vehicle has evolved. Most of the changes are positive...but not all (e.g. the new dash is a mess) Now considering reverting to having him as our sole vehicle. We shall see!

Adventures await.

Hi! Well, yes and no! I was on the (passenger) ferry but the Cali was on the freight boat because there was no vehicle space. It happens fairly regularly but handing your brand new vehicle over to someone else is slightly scary. In Lerwick I actually stood on the passenger walkway watching the Cali being driven off. Enjoy Shetland - weather not too great just now. I'll keep an eye out for you.

Can imagine you'd be a wee bit on edge till you finally inspected and drove of in the Cali.

This is our second visit to the Shetland Isles,and hopefully see a lot more of the wonderfull scenery and wild life.

We're currently on the south Mainland working our way north,and eventually on to Yell and Unst,is there any of the other islands you would recommend for a two or three day visit?

We were down in the south mainland today, taking a group to Old Scatness. Very sorry about the weather!

I would definitely recommend a trip to Fetlar. There are newly refurbished facilities at the village hall - hook-ups showers and laundry. And the Phalaropes are still at Funzie. The coastal walking is also wonderful.

What colour is your Cali - so we can keep an eye out? We stay in Gott.

We're slowly making our way north and have got as far as West Burra. Have got a nice park up for this evening,looking towards Meal beach and Hamnavoe.Plenty of great walks.
