Anyone watching this new Science Series?

Not yet but just had a quick butchers on the phone and it looks good :thumb so will watch it on the big screen this week.

I like Hanna Fry. We enjoy listening to the Podcasts that Hanna and Adam Rutherford do.

Fascinating and worrying but can’t decide.
Alexa , make my day ….

Interesting as showed how yesterdays high tech breakthrough claims aren't all that they claimed to be.
Still come a long way in a relatively short period of time.

Not unlike watching Tomorrows World progs from half a century ago.

We are massive Hannah Fry fans here, so yes thoroughly enjoying the series

Is this the same series where the history of chip/pin was covered? I found that fascinating and meant to check out more episodes but forgot about it.

Yes. 3 in the series so far. Click link in Post 1.

On the PVR. Must watch. Thanks for the prompt @WelshGas !

Suitable adjectives: Interesting, worrying, scary, mind blowing, fascinating. And when we look backwards in 20 years I think we’ll realise that the tech is really only in its infancy right now.

The ‘tyranny of numbers’ - if you make something so complex, with many parts, it’s bound to fail.

Does this sound familiar?

History of the Microchip is fascinating, future is also terrifying. There’s a great book called ‘chip wars’ which explains why microchips are the new oil and how countries are prepared to go to war over securing their supply, this explains reasons for the war in Ukraine, why the USA is in conflict with China over Taiwan, cost of living crisis and why the VW ID buzz, amongst other things, is in short supply.

Got round to watching eventually and while it is still true I would watch Hannah paint a room, at an hour long these are quite a stretch. 30 minutes would have been far more interesting. On the episode where they started to mansplain wifi I was out and switched off.

I intended to watch the first episode but accidentally stumbled across this……

Hannah is incredible! I have even more respect for her now and I have always liked her presentation style and cheeky sense of humour.

I won’t put any plot spoilers here but yes I did get watery eyes.

Totally inspirational, especially having lost my mother to cancer earlier this year.

Just watched the episode on electric vehicles, very interesting

The fifth episode is great. Accelerometers, wow!!!

The Secret Genius of Modern Life, Series 1: 5. Fitness Tracker: www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m001fyxy via @bbciplayer
I’m planning on getting a fitness tracker/Apple Watch after chatting to a colleague recently returned to work following a small heart attack. Whilst he was being hooked up so was his Fitbit and the data saved his life!

Agree; the raw "get it out of me" vs "rational numbers brain" must have been a struggle
