Hi folks.
Just a quick question about the leisure batteries in my Ocean.
They make a "gurgling" sound every now and again. Is this normal?
There aren't any smells coming from either of them

From what I remember of batteries, in days gone by when you were charging car batteries you used to have to take off the plastic covers to allow them to 'breathe' whilst charging, which as air coming from the acid inside and they certainly used to 'gurgle' then. I'm sure someone with more knowledge in this area can confirm but I'd say it was a natural process....

Are you sure you weren't just very hungry when you heard these noises :D ?

Well guys, after it not raining in the Outer Hebrides for a day, I can confirm the gurgling sound has stopped.
As a lot of you have said, it must be water draining away and in my half asleep state, I must have thought it was coming from the batteries.
As they say, every day is a school day, so thanks for putting me right

There is a plastic pipe that connects to them to let something release. Gas?

Vent tube connected to the outside to vent the small amount of Hydrogen produced by the battery.
