Off to the Alps next week.
Any one got any tips for coping with the heat?

Portable fan x2. Yeti cups for wine and beer. Project Camper blinds. Isotop. Duvalay freshtec mattress

Park in the shade when possible if not rear to South.
Close up and run aircon early evening to take heat out of interior,
Alps going into the red for temp now.
Watch how the locals and Continentals deal with the heat.

Silly question here…. Does thee air con in the back work when engine isn’t running ? Or can the auxiliary heater blow cooler air?
(I know some other brands can )

Italy is gonna be scorchio for the next few days. 48C+ is no joke.

Keep hydrated, move as little possible, park in shade, run fans and plenty of cold showers.

Those portable EF AC units look like they could be essential equipment when travelling to parts of Europe in the summer.

I’m afraid not, to both questions.

Keep hydrated..... you'll be surprised how much you need to drink.

Beer contains alcohol and alcohol will dehydrate. Perfect for a balmy summer evenings but not so much to maintain hydration levels. I appreciate the enthusiasm though.

We were advised that military activity within hot climates required circa 18+ water bottles in a 24hr window (so 18litres plus)

Great advice everyone, thank you. We are based next to the lake in Annecy for a week, then a week some where between there and Molveno where we stay another week. Any tips welcome.

Annecy was 38 yesterday.

Went there some years ago and was cool in the evening as sun blocked by alps. Did have a thunderstorm that parked overhead for a few hours.
If walking or cycling on the track/walkway beware of high speed rollerblade ski types types keeping fit.

Off to the Alps next week.

drink a energy with electrolytes in such as HIGH 5 ZERO tablets they work really well as just water will not replace the salts you sweat out .

If drinking enough fluids then you should Pee clear once a day..

The way I cope with hot sunny weather is
Sunbathing
Swimming
Cycling
Eating/drinking outside
Dozing
Running
Generally feeling smug I’m not in England.

Something tells me I’m missing a point?

Currently on Camping le Chamois cool only 26C. Fully booked this weekend cos it’s a BH but we turned up without booking earlier today and there was a site free.
