Camping GAZ 907 Cylinder price in France.

Yes I know there are a number of threads on the subject but I'm posting this as an up to date price (11th July 2022) for those planning to cross the Channel this summer and use Camping GAZ 907 cylinders.

If you possibly can manage DON'T BUY A REFILL IN THE UK.

Price for a Camping GAZ 907 refill today in a Super U was 24.90€ which is broken down as 20.75€ + 4.79€ tax equivalent to a total price of £21.03 at this moment's exchange rate.

And just to show how we in Britain are being ripped off, the French price includes their equivalent of VAT at 20%. In Britain gas refills should only attract VAT at 5% thus the equivalent would be £18.39 per refill. As far as I know the best price you will find in Britain is about £34.50!

current refill prices in U.K. are IRO £37, so quite a difference Comparatively.

Yes, daylight robbery. As you will see I have just added to my post with the real comparison when the differing VAT rates are taken into account.

'Charlie's Stores' who trade in the Shropshire & mid Wales area sell refills for around £34.50 as do Chorley Gas (£35.00).

Yet, gas IS expensive, these days… We just had our propane bottles refilled this afternoon, for our upcoming Scandinavia trip. € 20 (incl. VAT) per bottle. Never had to pay so much!
But the price difference with the UK is extreme!

Thanks very much for posting this update. This is exactly what I was pondering so now I will head for a Super U. Interestingly, while 907s are often available in French supermarkets I've always found the CP250 canisters almost impossible to find.

If anyone is in the Midlands, Walsall tent hire do empty 907 for £24 or a refill for £26. Just off J10 M6.
Really nice people, have been going there for 25 years.
Nice little show room with well priced bits and bobs too.
Check opening times before travelling tho. Took me three attempts to find them open earlier this year.
Closed on a Tuesday after a bank holiday and another day of the week, so bad luck and planning on my behalf.

Don't understand trying to save £3 over a refill... Just drive at 68mph instead of 70mph and you'll save more than £3 by the time you reach France.

Paid €34 for a 907 refill in Trasimeno, Italy about four weeks ago. Not many options for refills there and not sure what the cost would have been in previous times. Have always found the cheapest refills in the big supermarches in France.
