Hi all, Just wondering if any new Cali Ocean owners who ordered all season tyres on 17 inch could tell me what tyres were fitted? The spec just says all season super low rolling resistance, and apparently the tyres change from time to time, so wondering what they are currently since I am hoping for my new van soon :)

As you said, the manufacturers change Tyre brands as supply dictates, they have several approved supplier options,
yours will be whatever was delivered to the production line that day.
Others may be able to tell you what they got, but that won’t necessarily be what you get.

I assumed that they would stay the same for a few months at a time, but maybe not... the lack of responses though, either few people order the all season, or the new owners are all busy playing with their new toys :)

Hi, we got Bridgestone Weathercontrol A005 - 235 55 r17 on ours when it arrived in March this year.

Hi Mark,

vehicle manufacturers do not hold stock of third party supply items, production lines are designed to run on bare minimum of parts on the shop floor (Often close to Zero at the end of a shift)
the Master Production Schedule dictates what is required and when, it’s not unusual for suppliers to make several deliveries per day under Just in Time policy / contract.

for example VW do not supply a spare tyre as standard, so for example you order a spare tyre & all weather option, it is perfectly feasible that your van is the only van to be produced, that day, that requires 5 all weather tyres, fitted to 4 alloys and one steel wheel ! (unlikely but entirely possible) VW will not want spare tyres / wheels kicking around on the production line.

VW will not care what make the tyre is and will schedule delivery to suit themselves based on the contractual agreement with the various suppliers (I.e. minimum volume vs min cost)

interesting, thank you. They are rated as C for fuel economy, so I'm not sure how they could justify stating super low rolling resistance, if that was the option you chose. Are you using them on a 4motion? Either way, what sort of mpg are you getting? I suspect that I will get similar but will probably upgrade to Michelin crossclimate van 215/60/17, for two reasons, 1 they are a B rating on fuel and 2 they look a little bit gangster without going full BFG which I think is an E rating for fuel (-7 mpg according to ABAB)

Hi Mark, we bought a set of VW supplied (standard for) 4 New Continental 4seasons / winter rated tyres , 236/65 R 16 C on brand new silver 16’ VW rims, balanced ready to roll From Carrs in Exeter for our GC. If anyone is InterestEd we are selling for £600 for the set, collection or meet to hand over within reasonable distance. We had a good deal when we bought them but unfortunately the van order is now cancelled! Also got Brandrup carpets to go…..

It is a 4 Mo, yes. When we ordered back in April '21 the option was called 235/55 All Season Tyres I believe, no mention of low rolling resistance (can't check because that option didn't appear on the dealers 'puter and therefore didn't appear on our official paperwork either and I had to query it!)

We're getting about 35 mpg fully loaded on a motorway run, about 28 around town.

We had Goodyear Vector Cargo all season delivered on ours when it was delivered in Dec 2020.
