Having trouble fitting the 933 xt carrier. The handle that you press down that clamps the carrier onto the towbar will not completely close downwards to secure the carrier on the towball. The instructions say 47kg of downward pressure is required to close it but is impossible to physically close it without damaging it. Anyone else had similar issues, or does it simply not fit, I wonder?

Stating perhaps the obvious, but have you tried adjusting the mechanism with the small knurled knob near the handle? I had to adjust mine to get the optimum fit.

Yes, I have opened it out as far as it goes. I assume you have the same carrier and it fits okay?

No issues with this bike carrier. Requires some force, need to put my full weight (I’m not that heavy though) on the lever.

We don’t have the easy fold but the velospace and seems to have the same way of fitting. My husband has to put all his body weight on it. You do need to make sure it is level on the ball. often I will hold the rack and he will press the lever down.

Lift up the rear edge of the rack as your pushing the handle down :thumb
This is the right answer.
We had similar. In short, lift it up so that it tilts 'upwards' a bit more.

Thanks for all comments. I have managed to get the carrier onto the towbar. It does need a lot of force. Am I right in thinking you can remove the two plastic end caps to give enough tilt to allow the rear door to open fully?

Yes, that's right. If removed it can fully tilt and you can open the tail gate. Be careful with your bikes tough because they'll hit the ground :)
