Noticed while filling up that fuel flap not quite sitting flush as shown in picture below. I've also posted a picture of the flap open in case anyone can point out to me what is wrong!

I can’t pinpoint the issue from the photo but it looks to be a small issue. Maybe someone with some experiance in panel repair can give you an correct opinion.

We had the same issue on our Ocean. I used some heat shrink tubing around the spigot pin, then a small strip of self adhesive foam rubber placed on the inside of the passenger door to coincide with the spigot. Is a perfect fit now.

I can take a photo tomorrow if it will help explain what I have done.

That would be great thanks!!! You can point out what the spigot is too

Thank you. It was a good thing that I checked, because I provided some wrong information regarding the foam. It goes on the inside of the passenger door and not the flap. I have updated my earlier posting.

I hope these photos help you better understand my solution.

The spigot I refer to is the pin on the flap.

Mine went a bit like that and only needed the hinges giving a WD40 spray. Spring action couldn't overcome the resistance to close.
Might not be your issue.

Same happened to me. Just a bit of lubrication was required.

Thanks, will check that as well!

Doesn't the stop bump-stop need to be screwed in a bit? It looks a bit too proud to me.

Yes from the photo the pin isn't sitting flush into the semi-circular channel as it should. I would check the hinges for any obstruction and lube with WD40 as others have suggested.

is that the semi circular bit it sits in? I tried WD40 on the hinges but that didn't make any difference

I've used a small strip of adhesive velcro strip mines now flush when closed.
That's exactly what I did on my old 2008 Cali - many years ago. Velcro is a treasure - I also used it to temporarily repair (on the inside, of course) the sliding doors on the "wardrobe" inside. Also bound round the pins on the sliding shelf in the boot, which got a bit rattly.

Daft question maybe, but are you sure that your AdBlue and/or Fuel cap is fully ‘home’? If not that might stop the flap fully closing.

Is it possible the flap has been opened and bent the hinge slightly by over extending it? If so a bit of careful bending in the closed direction might sort it? Its only about 2-3mm out by the look of it so could just need a little gentle ‘persuasion’.

I am looking at the button with the slot in the front at the top left above the filler.
Try seeing if you can screw it in a turn. Don't force it though.

Thanks all, a combination of all the advice seems to have it fitting pretty neat. Mot perfect but not enough to bother me!
