VEL goes up today

SORNed since I got my new cali delivered end of Nov 2022.
Bought new VEL today as first of month and its April goes up for year.
In line with Gov inflation figures + £325 for 12 months
Forever onwards & Upwards

Don't feel too hurt, ours was £490 last month (old price)..... all due to the weird way that the van is classified over the last 3 years..... ours in an MPV according to DVLA

Small comfort but encourages long term ownership with a drop to basic car tax after the initial 5 years
Always wondered if there were any other advantages to being an MPV with the DVLA? Eg ferry fares/ tolls
