Broken wing mirror - which part??

Hi there, anyone know what part I need here? Having watched the video below I feel
Like it might be the main housing which will require the whole thing coming off and replacing, if so where do I get that from? Would like to avoid paying full whack for VW to replace it. Thanks.

Id say you need too replace the black surround part. Vanstyle sell them. It's tricky to do without breaking any tabs but there is a YouTube video.

If it’s just broken tabs and a loose cover I would try using silicone sealant to fix it. I managed to fix mine and the repair was invisible and was still good 4 years on!

Brilliant thanks, was it a specific type of sealant you used?

Just cheap clear silicone bathroom sealant. I used masking tape to protect the cover applied the sealant and then taped it in place until set. If it doesn’t last it’s only a few bob wasted.

You’ll have to take it apart to see what’s broken but could end up breaking the tabs on the painted cover, which is expensive.

I used tigerseal on ours and held it with masking tape for 24 hours: it’s been fine since. It’s messy but cleans off with turps.
