Spent the bank holiday in my old stomping ground of the Mendips. I was near Wells today meeting some people who wanted to buy 2 e-bikes off me.

Well, the business today was exemplary, the best offer by far and deal completed with absolutely no hassle by some lovely people who are in the business of buying, refurbishing and selling e-bikes. I can highly recommend.

The other result was despite a weekend of the most foul weather I managed to get some cycling in.

Well done on the cycling and the video, Jen. Great stuff, keep them coming.

You might like Ride with Roy on YT. Gentle and informative cycling videos. particularly for those of us non racing snakes of 'mature years'; often combing a bit of interesting local history and cycling tips. Based around another lovely area I think you know - Grantham and the Vale of Belvoir.

Velvet Bottom, what a Peach !

Thank you Jane

It is my intention to visit every single NP and AONB in the UK, all 61 of them :) (But not all at once!!).

I used to live in a Mendip Village, love the area.

Hello Sam?

well, I would thoroughly endorse the selling process and seeing what you sold Daisy, my old bike, for then someone has a thoroughly good high end bike for a great price.

Have you done yourselves an introduction? New members section, new trade partners section or whatever?

Daisy is now off to a new home. :D She got snapped up a couple of days ago, I'm sure your bike will be just as loved at its new home.

Not yet, we are just familiarising ourselves with the lovely forum but hope to soon.

Tebay sounds beautiful, we have some epic weather coming our way, perfect for evening e-bike rides.

Rosie is busy doing outstanding stuff in Cumbria.

An easy-rider beach cruiser? After a discussion by the Kirkby-stephen co-op bike park yesterday with some enthusiastic, skinny, lycra-clad club riders I was warned off going anywhere near Lamps Moss climb. Definitely not the territory for a Granny on a cruiser.

I puffed, wheezed, cursed and cried my way to the top yesterday afternoon. Rosie was outstanding.

Still waiting for Velma to come, probably in the next week, and then Rosie will be looking for a new home.

Fantastic road over the top to Swaledale through some wild country! Well done!

Try the ride round the Orton fells next time for fantastic views if the howgills one way and Pennines the other

We love the Howgills - an area with lots to offer The leisure cyclist and walker.

Absolutely agree about the Howgills. I cycled down to the cross keys today, had a good look at Cautley spout, then went back to Kirkby Stephen via ravenstonedale. My ancient old legs were a bit achey after my encounter with lamps moss but still had a splendid day.

I cannot come to cUmbria without my inner spirit screaming "welcome home". There is something so beautiful about the place, and not just the scenery, the people I talk to, the help offered always. I'm going home tomorrow and quite sad. I really wanted to get to do the Asby's and the scar.

Here was our view of the “Sleeping Elephants” from the road to Little Asby

Hope you’ve sampled the food at Black Swan Ravenstonedale and that you sat and admired Cautley Spout from the Cross Keys, and pottered along Smardale to cross the Viaduct - the old tracksides and those at Waitby Greenriggs reserve must be awash with butterflies at the moment.

Yes, sat and admired Cautley spout, going home today, a lot more to do but back in Cumbria on the 7th August, visiting Bendrigg to work with some kids that can't ride bikes, and will take a few days off!!

My old work area and know it well, i used to work on the mill at wookey, and later in the mendip hospital on the bath road. Spent many an evening in the new inn at priddy or the slab house on the bath road, love video, brought back many memories of working in that area

A truly lovely place. I used to live the other side of the hill, Shipham. The "doomed" village. The year I moved in was the year that they were talking of having to evacuate the village to remove all the topsoil owing to cadmium pollution from the old lead workings. Having devalued house prices by mega percent they, the EA. then admitted they were overstating the situation!

GrannyJen thanks for sharing your videos. It never gets boring watching beautiful views explored by bicycle!
