Beach Delays and Deliveries

Currently I am build status 10, for week 2nd week of May, this though was pushed 1 month after the factories closed. I order 21st July 2021. Like we’ve discussed before, your delay must be related to the Driver assistance package plus. I ordered mine 2 weeks before you and collected mine from Eurovans Crawley in March. Options wise the DAPP is the only significant ‘tech’ based difference between our Beaches. I did option a Tow Bar though. Thoughts?

Thanks for that. Looks similar extras then ours. We don’t have Art Velours, Teresinas, Tow bar and Rear cam. I wonder why ours doesn’t have comfirmed build week yet. But as we’ve seen so far every order moves different. I’ll try to give a call to our dealer next week. And we’ll see.

I ordered a new Beach in February this year (in Australia) and am told that, if I am lucky, I can expect delivery by June 2024. That is not next year, it is the year after! And that is the earliest possibility. VW only started bringing the California into Australia (in Beach mode only) in 2021 and only about 150 have been imported so far. The cost starts at $81,000 for the basic 2nd. If you want the 4motion with all the options, as I do, with the many taxes in Australia you are looking at $135,000. Remember, this is for the beach with no cooking facilities.
Would you wait 18 months (minimum) and pay $135,000 (AUD) for a Beach? Am I crazy? Yep, probably, but I I still want one.

Great news for us as well. I sent the email to our dealer today. After few hours very positive respond. Status 20 confirmed build week 20. Beach ordered 26th September. Order confirmed by brand 6th October.
