Is anyone else disappointed with how cold the air conditioning is on their California T6.1?

My air cin today was about the same temp as without it on, can this be correct?

I do not know how old your T6.1 is or if your air con worked before.
Our experience with our T6 which we bought in the winter so I did not notice an issue until the 1st summer - turned out to be the compressor was defective and a pipe joint leak was fixed under warranty. The pipe leak was fixed but still did not work then the compressor replaced was all on the same visit.

Works fine in mine. Maybe you have a problem if you can't feel a difference on or off. The temp differential should be about 10-20C ambient vs output from vent.

If you put the fan in "auto" mode does it blow full blast? Does it stay full blast? At what temp are the 3 zones set?

Zero issues. It’s likely you either don’t have the AC set properly, or your AC tank is empty.

Put the a/ c on for a prolonged period of time,
use the recirculate function , it should steadily improve over time (the more you use it )

if not have it checked / regassed at an air con servicing garage

My T6.1 is a a 71 plate so second half of 2021.

Yes in auto it blows full blast and stays that way and all zones are set to LO.
I've had the van for about 7 weeks max.

I take it the a/c is lit up? There is also a max a/c button you could try.

it sounds like your system has a fault. Likely causes are refrigerant leak or compressor. Your dealer will want to do more diagnosis.

Needs a re-gas? When I collected my last one on a hot day before the 7 hour drive to home I spotted this at the first roundabout. Returned to Swansea VW who immediately took it into the workshop and re-gassed it

Ok, thank you everyone I will take it back to VW Conwy to get checked/fixed.

Ah the poor child! I clicked the topic with keen interest to discover it’s not a “very child” at all, despite caps lock.

More relevant though, I have discovered that when I leave air con off, I get much better mpg. And it’s also more pleasant to be in ambient temperatures, not chilled. We get so little heat this summer it’s nice to soak up what we can get. I leave a window open a chink beneath a wind deflector and get adequate ventilation.
