Not sure how it’s happened but the scope of our reversing camera has changed so that I can now see an increasing part of our licence plate. Has anyone had experience of realigning the camera back to the factory position? My recollection when we bought the van last year was that the plate was not visible

Image?

Just checked mine. Identical. You likely just never noticed before.

Well there's a thing! - I had EXACTLY the same experience on my wife's Mazda CX-5 a couple of years ago: one minute the view showed what was behind the car, with maybe just a sliver of bumper visible, the next minute there was a big slice of the rear number plate in shot in glorious fish-eye view!

The dealer couldn't explain it, there'd been no updates applied, and the other cars they had on the forecourt showed exactly the same as my 'new view'. There'd been no interference with the mounting or installation of the camera unit either. But there is NO way I was mistaken. It changed.

So, I don't think you dreamt it, but who knows what caused it - the cameras probably come out of the same few factories and I wonder if they have any internal self-calibration routines causing them to cycle through views, or to reset the default, somehow. We need an auto-electronics & software nerd ;-)

Enjoy your new horizon . . . . ;-)

PS here's mine (today!)

I had the exact same thing on our Cali … I do wonder sometimes, though, if the camera has moved or if the number plate (mine is a metal plate) has somehow buckled slightly?

Considering all three of us have the exact same view, to the mm, then the cameras and plates must have all moved in precisely the same way ;)

Your view is exactly the same as mine but I must admit, I didn’t think I could see the number plate initially either and now I can. I just put it down to me not being observant enough!

Touch buttons on the right. Do you have them?
I don't have those touch buttons on the left. Presumably they come with one of the driver assist options? I can't immediately see any way you can change the view.

Looks like that van has the trailer assist option fitted.

Just been to check mine - dont have any of these options. When I engage auto park the options are on the digital dash, not on this screen. Image remains exactly as all the first ones above.

And Cross Traffic Assist.

This my screen - I also have cross traffic assist. No options for different views.
If someone could tell me how to get rid of the icon of my van in the picture permanently I would be pleased. It covers the bit of the picture that shows the gate post as I reverse into the drive.IMG_1120.jpeg

Press this icon to slide it in but not sure if it stays in or comes back out next time.

It comes straight back out again, thats what I want to change.
It does seem a bit silly to obscure a critical part of the picture.
