Popcorn at the ready, settles in for a lively thread.

Push in, twist and open the tap. Satisfaction

Personally I just pop my long flexible one in and it all ends well.

I’ve tried something similar and the air in the lines can’t escape fast enough if the water has a lot of pressure. I bailed on it completely and just use a clean hose directly into the hole. Much easier and no fuss. And can use max psi water pressure to fill tanks quickly.

Based on the comments above I’m also here for the giggles to see what others post.

Maybe I need an in-line tap of some description so I can turn it on and off away from the tap otherwise I can see it falling out

We have a Hozelock push fit connector on the end of the hoses we use (long one at home, short 7m flat hose for filling on sites), and this pushes neatly into the hole and stays put when filling.

I do the same with the hose lock. I couldn’t believe my luck when I pushed it into the hole and it sort of fits in without going all the way into the tank. Push it in , turn tap on and you can leave it until full. At first I thought I was going to have to take the hose lock connector off the pipe to use but all good with it fitted

The tank is so small, it takes only minutes to fill then will overflow.

Probably takes more time to set this up then to actually fill the tank.

You know that bag in the underseat drawer for tying down the roof in case you end up with no roof hydraulics (if you don't you should do) - well I have one of the velcro straps threaded through one of the small plastic channel fixings and through a funnel that has a holding slot at the perimeter. Fix the strap into a loop, slide the plastic fixing into the roof channel above the filler and fit some plastic tubing on the funnel spout which is then shoved into the hole. A collapsible water carrier (10, 15L not sure) which is carried in one of the folded chairs in the rear door is used to pour water into the funnel etc. It's quick and does wonders for your 6 pack. Cheaper than the gym.

And no hosepipe that someone might have been washing down their you-know-what with...

Exactly what I do too! Also got a fresh water hose just for this purpose in a bag stored in the rear seat drawer like this one.
