Hi all ,can anyone tell me if I am missing battery terminal covers.

Sign of the times, if you look at the first T5 there were lots of covers both in the engine bay and underneath, many of these have been deleted as models have changed. If they save 50cents on every vehicle produced imagine the saving over all.

accountants now run VW, the little bits that were designed to be functional & used to be included for a reason, Are now not commercially viable & most people won’t miss them anyway !

I wish engineers did,I think I am getting old everything looks of less quality now greed has taken over I fear

Engineers used to design cars, but they made everything too reliable and everything lasted far too long, now accounts do a much better job of Cost effectiveness ?
or at Least they do a job !

What we must all remember is that the base van is designed as a commercial vehicle which could be doing 50k miles per year and be changed for a new model at three or four years old. As long as it is financially economic for fleet buyers under those circumstances it will sell well.
We are just a tiny drop in the ocean (no pun intended) of production numbers at the factory or design office.

Sorry, this is your idea about it and I respect that but don't go along with that line of thinking. The quality has purposely been lowered since dieselgate. I already posted an article about that. The expected quality of a van has been higher than before for several decades now…. but Volkswagen has screwed that down. A california is supposed to be a high quality vehicle (and based on the highest spec transporter); In addition, it is not only fleet vans that drive around: also small independents who want to keep their van as long as possible.
So, sorry but I expect more quality from our new california. It could have been the matured product it should have been. Instead it is a quality screwed down product.

Yes, they cut corners and sadly the t6.1 california suffers most from it.

Thread 'Cut corners on quality? Possible (& article with some explanation).'

Are you missing something ?
just returned from 4 weeks wild camping in sweden, driving 6000 km (4000 miles) . many miles on dusty roads, got the car all covered with fine dust but still looks like brand new under the hood.. why do we always immediately blame vw decreasing quality and trying to save money whenever we find some detail they changed ?

Hellow, I don't understand: I'm not missing something... or do you mean something else?

Sorry, should have been a reply to the original thread, battery is not covered as before in t6 but I don’t see any need for either.

aha, no, me neither. It's just a example of the costs savings they make for a while now.
