Very useful for storing things you need quickly on setting up. We keep the hook up cable & wheel grip pads in there. Also keeps the boot looking tidy & hides contents from view.

Which flex bag? Stern or Bench Rucksack (have neither) or flexbag cargo?

I have a luggage net for the bench:

If you mean the flex bag cargo that is mounted on the bicycle rack: I find this too high to easily put things in and especially take them out (and I am 1.92 m).

I have the rack mounted one and it is a great piece of kit. Paddle Board, Level ramps etc all store securely and stayed dry in torrential rain in a trip across Europe. I loaded it on the ground and lifted on.

How many bike bays does it take up? Ie - could you still carry 2 bikes with the bag attached (weight permitting?)

Yes, that’s the one we were thinking of getting. Looks like you have ‘pulls out tray’ there too , which we don’t have. Is the Flexbag easily attached .

I've got one, good use of space, but it does obstruct the pull to raise the rear shelf/bed into a reclined position on a 6.1. I cut it (and stitched the edges) to allow the pull to pass though. It hasn't worked brilliantly and I've stopped using the flex bag. Open to offers. I could send you a pic of the 'upgrade' if you like. In the picture above it would be invisible (below the mattress)
