Good day happy campers! Freedom will be with us soon! Yipee!

Apologies for yet another VED road tax post but after much research here and on other sites I still need help. I am now thinking about UK registering my new 2021 6.1 Coast 150 HP either in March. Or April. My call. I’ll be filling out the V55.

Without refering to any .gov websites please can anyone tell me with certainty what the March 12 month VED is?

What will the April 12 month VED be changing to?

I’d normally appreciate any “I think it might be...” but I really need to know for sure please as the right decisions need to be made before it comes to the UK so am hoping for dead cert hard facts rather than conjecture

@Breeze1 ?

The Van VED changes in the budget were limited to RPI so £10 difference assuming you are registering as Motor Caravan M1 not MPV

Whats wrong with Gov websites? the attached 2 V149 documents are the definitive documents when it comes to VED

The important April change that was going to happen has been Scrapped as below:

The Government has halted plans to introduce a new graduated system of Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) for light goods vehicles or motorhomes from April 2021, to avoid distracting the automotive sector and businesses more widely from the challenges they currently face from the Covid-19 pandemic.

BVRLA Senior Policy Advisor Thomas McLennan responded to the Government’s VED announcement; "We welcome HM Treasury’s confirmation that motorhomes will continue to be classed as Private/Light Goods for Vehicle Excise Duty purposes and are supportive of the Government’s decision to scrap its plans to introduce a new graduated VED scheme from April 2021.”

@Breeze1 ?

The proposed change in VED for Motor. rcaravsns/Motorhomes for April 2021 has been postponed.

Excellent, thank you for the replies. I did have a look at the Govt sites. Apologies if I'm not 100% on the various tables but just to be sure/confirm/ check my interpretation of the V149, which might be clear to some but not everybody,

what is the 12 month VED £ amount due on my 2021 California please?

I don't know if the 1st year is different but subsequent years is, I believe, £270/yr + any annual increase.

First year VED, £270 + £55 First year registration fee = £325

I assume that all the HMRC notification/Taxes have been completed prior to the DVLA application. You may have problems getting the vehicle category sorted with them.
Hope that you've gone through that hurdle when bringing the vehicle into the UK.

NOVA will be declared on entry and a copy of the NOVA acceptance letter will go with the V55
