But to be honest common sense works best.
1. Don’t park in front of peoples houses or flats.
2. Be respectful of the area and don’t empty anything including the bin.
3. Don’t park in same spot for days.
4. If someone asks you to move, move, don’t be a smart arse.
5. Do what you came for and move on.
People don’t seem to mind much even in a 6 meter van. If you stick to those 5.

Hello,
I use "Parkopedia" for this. It can find parking spots without height restrictions.
Never the less I check those places with Google Street View also, because sometimes it is difficult to get in and out of those places.
In general if I have to go somewhere I check the parking options, mostly with Google Street View. Only if I am convinced there is enough room and good access I use the camper to get there. If not I find something else or sue the car.

Great tip Eberhard, Parkopedia is just what I was looking for. As mentioned above it’s not for overnight camping but for the occasional visits to towns.
Had a T5 for the last 14 years, now about to take delivery of the Sven Hedin, so just planning the adjustment to the extra metre!

Height will be more problematic rather than the length. Even open carparks tend to have height barriers. The Covid trend for campers/Motorhomes has caused even more restrictions to be applied.
When I had a Motorhome finding a space long enough to slot into even on streets was problematic. Did a lot of walking into Town centres.

Just found this site that shows all park and rides in the uk. Once found you can go directly to the P&R website and see if they allow motorhomes. I’ve used the Cambridge and Winchester p&r’s and they were really good.

Just tried out the York park and ride (Askham bar) and it’s really good, £3.50 return to the city centre, 10 motorhome spaces.
