I am meeting some mates in Kent to go cycling for 3 days this coming weekend. When they realised I would be staying in the Cali, 3 wanted to join me.

Question: Do 4 x 6ft2 and under men fit in a California?

I'll let you know the answer next week, but advice/experience in the mean time would be well received.

Thanks

My 16 year old son is 6ft 2 inches. 18 stone and a front row rugby player with a top premiership team.
I drive him around most of the south of England, when he sits in the back alone he is fine but if I take one of his friends it is very tight. The front passenger seat is tight again for legroom.
Hope your friends get on well.

Possible, not necessarily enjoyable. Dont forget roofbed weight limit means the 2 lardiest may need to share smaller bed downstairs. Best leave the portapotti at home.

Thankfully only one mate will be joining me on the drive to/from London. The other 2 will meet at the campsite.

Great last sentence advice there. We will be on a serviced camp site thankfully

i would tell them to p1ss off and fetch a tent. i want to be the only one snoring and farting real ale farts in the van. i never even share hotel rooms with mates, pain in the arse. can't beat your own space, i would also prefer to sleep alone in a tent than in a cali with 3 other blokes

We want photos or it never happened!

I do this fairly often with my climbing/mountain ski mates when accessing remote routes, but I have a Beach, and would not do it with an Ocean because of narrow lower bed and lack of space for gear. All about 6'/181cm, but nobody over 78k. If you are used to sleeping in tents or mountain refuges, you will be fine, others will not.

Those aren't pillows!

3 is ok.
Two in the roof and one downstairs.
Just remember to give a full brief on the emergency exit location and procedures.
I remember one time, me and a mate sank about 8 pints in 2.5hrs, then it the hay. At 3am my mate in blind panic and busting for the toilet, couldn’t seem to get out the van (sliding door on the wrong side apparently) he eventually escaped via the front passenger door…
To be honest, it sh1t me up. I couldn’t for the life of me understand what he was doing.
The next morning I trapped my finger in the drivers door. OUCH
That was a messy night, never again…

Also, don't improvise, organize. Everything must have its place, and an easy way to always put it back. Otherwise chaos takes over.
