I have been following this string:

I am awaiting my Oct 21 ordered Ocean and, in the meantime, arranging a family picnic (in a London park where BBQ's and cooker are banned).

My grandchildren are happiest eating warm pizza. I wonder if I can pick some more expert brains for a solution?

I am thinking I could combine some homemade made pizza 'slabs' (made that morning in a Ridge Monkey XXL) with a Dokio as:

https://amzn.to/3NXZHlU

connected to 12v warm box such as:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B075SDCY3F/?tag=eliteelect-21

So that for a few hours my wife and I can serve warm/hot pizza out of the box.

I imagine the kit will be useful long term with the Ocean, anyway once, eventually, delivered. I do not understand electrics enough as to whether this might work, for example there are no compatible connectors so far as I can see in the above two items.

Perhaps there are better ways to do this? I had thought to buy a Cadac Chef 30 compact to reheat the slabs of pizza in the Ridge Monkey, but cooking would not be allowed at the intended location.

Admire your inventiveness, but too complicated for my brain! I am an electrical engineer, and what I’d suggest is to be cautious hobbling together connections - even if it’s 12 volts, it can still spark and overheat cabling if you get your sizing and circuit protection wrong. What’s wrong with using the kitchen hob. Failing that - a very well insulated food bag? Or, a quick call to the closest Dominos ;)

Pre cooked Pizza and Butane blow torch to reheat to toppings when required (you’ll look like per a proper chef)

edit: I carry one of these in the Charcoal BBQ to get it going, but many a good chef uses similar !
top unscrews from the can, piezo lighter, highly efficient at heating the surface

personally I love cold pizza!

What about chucking your hot pizzas in a yeti ‘cool box’ or similar decent cool box with a hot pizza stone or two wrapped in a tea towel to keep them warm.

Ridiculous overkill but:

plus

(or a small microwave)
or even: https://www.create-store.com/uk/buy-pizza-oven/93087-pizza-maker-electric-stone-pizza-oven.html

don't imagine having a generator running would make you very popular in the park though

Thank you all. So I think I will ditch the idea of solar powered to 'warm box'. In fact, I think the best solution will be to both reschedule for when I have delivery of my Ocean (hopefully September) and relocation to somewhere out of London - if we can find it - where we can park up and use the Ocean and our new Ridge Monkey XXL as the picnic base, and our grandchildren can run around to their hearts' content.
