Looming and overwhelming sense of loss

I'm in denial. I don't want to think about it but it's there all the time in the back of my mind.
It happens every year but it never gets any easier.

The Tour de France is coming to an end! Sunday is the last day.

I feel totally the opposite about Love Island coming to an end. I just can't wait. Every night at 9pm for the last few weeks I have had to vacate the lounge where the four females sit glued to the screen.
My son & I retire to the back room to watch anything & I mean anything other than that. We even watched the woman's football the other night, things really are that desperate.

Fortunately Mrs VD's Reality viewing is limited to Bakeoff.

I watched the England-Spain match, first time I've watched a women's international actually. Reasonably entertaining, certainly more lively in midfield than the men's game.

Aside from that we've been catching up on the latest season of Call My Agent, which I always find hysterical.

Feel your pain there Andy. Point of order tho on the girlie-footie. It's absolutely fab. It's like a breath of fresh air watching footie as it's supposed to be played. It flows, it's skillful and there is no constant whistle blowing from the ref as some nonse rolls around on the floor like he's been shot. Ok the Senoritas on Wednesday were a bit naughty but we won in the end. The German Frau's look formidable. England/Germany final?

I must admit it appears to be getting better, England Spain was enjoyable - England Germany could be an entertaining final.

I thoroughly enjoyed the female footie. Skilful, flowing, and as @sidepod said, no hysterical rolling around on the floor every time they get touched.

I'm a big footie fan, watch a lot, and totally agree regarding the Euros, I am really enjoying it.
So nice to see some respect and no decent or arguing in the game.
Sweden will be a tough challenge for the lionesses I think - assuming Belgium lose tonight of course.

Absolutely! Try watching Women's Rugby as well, much more about space, movement and vision than the men's game.....though there's something magical about watching Joe Marler getting in the opposition's face and Mako Vinupola on a hunting expedition.

I've been enjoying the Tour too. Good sportsmanship.

I tried to hoike husband out of the living room (currently sleeping on floor to look after dog) but he'd got into the ladies football & refused! He'd always been a bit sniffy about women's sport but said it was really good.

The only downside to daytime telly (ref TdF) is the moronic adverts. Funerals/Equity release/Charities.
Genuinely depressing. Cremation costs £1500, funeral £4k.
