New Eriba Car - VW Campervan

Interesting - Eriba make lovely caravans. Haven’t seen this for sale in the UK though.

Agreed, that’s disappointing from a big name like Eriba.
To be fair, the Grand Cali does that too.

Interestingly enough, the Eriba Car seems to be able to have a far higher spec available for a 'simple' 3.5t model - with the Grand California, can barely get two of the main spec items without it immediately blowing into the 3.88t model.

Not sure where you get that notion. The interior panels are moulded plastic just like the Cali's.
Not from the ones I’ve been around.

The cabinets are all a veneer on wood, and the sides in the living area are fabric lined. Was acutely aware from the ones we test drove as they had dirty marks all over.

Very little of the grands we’ve seen use the same materials as the Cali (wood versus plastic, etc.

I hired a 73 plate GC and there was no carpet on the walls. I thought the finish was functional but decent overall.

It's a Grand Cali Killer.
Which was an easy job for a top level producer like Hymer-Eriba with decades of experience to beat the newbies VW in that van category. VW maintains top spot and competitive advantage with the Cali, but in bigger vans, it is nowhere near the top.

Never challenge my eye for detail ;) :D Dont you remember how OCD I can be?

The fabric covers the bedroom walls, as well as the ceiling for the kids bunk.

Yeah I definitely wouldn’t call it carpet!

Indeed; more akin to car roof liner. But why they put it all around the walls in areas where dirty feet and hands frequent, who knows! :D

We just hate dinettes… So: no, no Eriba Car…

Because it helps with NVH and keeps the noises out without as much heavy insulation needed. On top of that it feels better than cheap plastic to most people who touch it.

Now I gotta ask - Why would you go to sleep with dirty feet or hands? Why are they even on the bed?

No kids, but I have a large dog. He sleeps on the bench seat in the dinnete or the floor and not the bed. I have a cover over the bench seat.

The only good thing is the base vehicle and it's nice colour options.
One of the least appealing vans I've seen in a long time. A premium price vehicle that loves carpet, it's even behind the flip up sink in the questionable bathroom!
Not a fan of the stepped floor at this price point plus with a few option packs weight becomes an issue.
Massive negative for me is the lack of storage, what's the point in open shelving in a small van, sometimes I wonder if the designers of vans like these actually camp.
Really surprised the Eriba would put their name and reputation on this vehicle.
In such a competitive sector who would buy it over a VW GC, Hymer GCS or the new kid on the block the Frankia Yukon.

Then don't even look at the Sven Heiden which has very little storage overhead - especially in the kitchen.

Eriba is quite short in terms of exterior height, the floor had to be designed in a way to accommodate a tall person and also accommodate equipment under the floor. It's similar to what the converters do with Ducato based vans.

How does price of this compare to Frankie Yukon?

Not sure about the 6 m Yukon k Peak but the 7m Mercedes is 130 k.
For that you get 4x4 and Poptop, a different type of vehicle but looks to be well thought out and highly specified as standard.
Hope to check on out at the NEC.
