What is the difference in list price between the Surf and Ocean? Are the same colour options available across the range?

The OTR price for a Surf will be £68,234 and the current OTR on a Ocean 150 DSG £72,980.

We havent had confirmation of the colour range that will be available.

Thanks for this info. Looks like a coast minus the awning and integrated fridge but adding heated seats, led headlights / interior lights and rear aircon. My coast with its various options (ordered late 2021) is now looking like amazing value

The way I read it this will lack the wardrobe and internal table. More like a Beach Camper Plus than a Coast with Extra's. The Surf's extras like the rear AC don't appeal. Would much rather have the parking heater.

Reactions: Sad
Wonder how many leisure batteries the Surf will carry.

I had just assumed parking heater was included!

Do you think VW will invest (at this stage of the model life cycle) in an updated wardrobe design? With all the manufacturing consequences?
That seems rather unlikely to me….

Maybe someone can conform what kind of interior this Surf model will have. Also wondering if this is going to be introduced in other countries?

So far, it feels more like a different name to the previous Coast option. But I could be wrong…

I was thinking that it would be a boot mounted kitchen pod as currently sold by vw as an accessory + a stand alone cooler. See attachment below item 19 fits the description perfectly. 2 rings, sink, clean & waste tanks, separate Waco cooler.

The only thing that changed my mind on that was that internal lighting to cupboards is included - difficult to have if there are no cupboards.

I cant believe they would have gone to the trouble of manufacturing a different set of cupboards just for a run out model.

Yes this is how I envisage it. I don't see the traditional Coast cupboard/wardrobe setup being used since a Waeco compressor fridge unit is installed. At this point until we see an internal shot its all speculation.

In that case it would be an something like an updated Beach (Tour). Would fit with the “up to 7 seats”, as stated in the articles. With such module in the boot, I’m not sure if you can register as camper, though?

Versus Beach Camper it would make less sense, as that one already has 1 gas hob internally. It would then end up with 3 gas jobs. But Camper can’t have 7 seats….

I’m still more inclined that it will be a replacement of coast, but time will tell. (Or until the first internal pictures are published)

Twin sliders, 7 seats, manual roof & a removable kitchen in the boot would make the most sense as would attract more buyers as its something new with a huge gear carrying capacity.

Anything else is too similar to the existing range.

Lets see!

Of course the Surf wouldn't have the Beach Camper's internal foldout cooker unit in this scenario

I’m puzzled by the 16” wheels. My understanding is that, since T6, both the Beach and Ocean are on the 17” chassis and bigger brakes, requiring at least 17” wheels. So is the Surf on a 16” chassis?

The coast was on 16” as standard.

I wonder if this Cali Surf is different enough to the Ocean for VW New Zealand to consider for our market? We don't get the Beach (Camper or Tour) here ,and the recently introduced Caddy California seems to have been a flop sales wise with massive discounting required to move them off showroom floors. Looking forward to some Surf internal photos to make sense of it all.

Hi
Any images? Is the tent fabric the upgraded version? Awning ?parking heater?

Regards

John

I am more intersted in real life Pictures of how it looks on the inside. Now it seems like everyone is speculating what is more appriate. Beach Plus or more like Coast with other options.

In the U.K. rest of us manage 7!
As far as I knew, with the Beach Camper version, the maximum number of seats possible is 6... (3 person bench + 1 extra seat on 2nd row. The flip-out kitchen unit and gas-locker get in the way for a 2nd extra seat. Further, I'm not sure if the weight limits allows this combination.

In the Beach Tour with 2 sliders, I know you can get 7 seats. But it doesn't have the flip-out kitchen....

Here you go, picture of my van with cooker out and 7 seats. It’s also a 4motion. Lots of choice in left hand drive models I guess.

impressive... In Belgium, this could not be configured and especially not as 4motion on top...

Good Morning Mr York

Thank you for getting in contact with me, I don’t just use this platform for an advertising point of view, I have also been known in the past to help with questions on vehicles when not even buying from ourselves. I have also made comments on important issues that have affected California customers.

I don’t disagree that there will be unhappy breeze customers as sometimes issues happen but we do our utmost that if things do go wrong we do our best to put it right and rectify the situation.

The reason I post on here is due to the feedback I have had from other members that they value the posts that are made.

If there is anything I can help with?
Kind Regards
Tom
