Buy all your VW California Accessories at the Club Shop Visit Shop

New category

Hope you all like the new category for all of you that have sold your cali but just can’t leave.
Enjoy
Great. It will be interesting to see how many of us there are!

Now this should be an interesting read and pretty informative too

I know of atleast 5 club joker owners hiding on here including you. Fingers cross may even get to see your posh van in action! There’s a few Sven owners too.
I’ve been looking at Facebook & the web to see if there’s any Westfalia focused forums but nothing that appears to include the newer Jokers.

Had a wee look at a Joker when recently on a site in Monifieth, Riverview, (Angus coast). It’s an attractive prospect having onboard toilet facilities in such a neat package, so assuming a similar drive to a California ( other than high side winds). However the passenger floor space seemed a tad small for our dog ( Labrador) to lay out, in comparison to the Ocean .
On further research the price tag was a wee shock, though given California spiralling prices, since we have ours just over 4 years, maybe it shouldn’t have.
A pic of the lad in question … lol

Nice touch having this category for former owners.

Saying that we will soon be looking to move our van on having taken the plunge to buy a larger campervan with a few more creature comforts.

I joined the Westfalia Neanderthal group on facebook for Club Jokers, Exclusives, Marco Polo etc. Mainly older vans but still club joker friendly.

Hopefully webbah and others will post on the section I started. The chap that owns my silver one and larrylamb blue one are both members on here. Plus me, maybe I’ll return to the fold at some point.

The likes of rasp and the other Sven owners too, as both vehicles have a lot of the same equipment.
Just need people to get the ball rolling :thumb

Slowly loving this van more and more.
Life’s a lot easier with the Hymer…

Aire in the middle of nowhere €12

No frills camp in SW France, huge pitches away from the crowds.

It’s took a while, but really getting on with this van now.

Kevin and Katy on our last trip, and Jo, changed out of cycling kit for once.

I started posting this the other week and then realised there was something missing, burst into tears and just getting it back again.

I so miss that old boy. :( 10 months and the hole is as big as ever:(

But yes, back on topic, a lovely camping experience from the Hymer. Just love it.

And another thing ....

I have been as cynical as anyone about the Fiat Ducato....

Kevin is two years old next week: He has his first engine service next Monday. Nothing, absolutely nothing, gone wrong. Pulls Jo's caravan without any fuss whatsoever, has used no oil. No creaks, groans, yellow lights. The 9 speed auto box is as smooth as silk, the cab layout is crap but works, the carpets never need cleaning because there aren't any, the Remis blinds work so well. He fits in any supermarket car park with ease, he doesn't need care when filling it with Ad Blu, just keep pouring it in until you can't get any more in the thing ....

A workhorse. Gives me a total feeling of confidence and security., Sorry Fiat, I was wrong .... but I still think "Fix It Again Tomorrow" is a laugh :D

I’ve not covered the same mileage as you Gen. But the Fiat so far works and I’ve had zero faults with the Fiat or the Hymer side of things.

Still, can’t say I’m in love with the Fiat. I’m considering options on my return. Will either invest in the current van, lithium batteries, diesel heater, wheels, tyres and new racks, internal and external.
Or it goes up for sale and in its place is the Merc free 600. I’m not 100% sure I want to invest money into the Fiat and hold on to it long-term…

Interested in Hymer’s new Crafters but still no news on them yet. Not sure how long I can wait.

Still haven’t used the shower, but came close. Almost hit 4 days, at which point, orders to the cubicle would have been made…:Depressed

Oh I completely sympathise !! Definitely invest in wheels and tyres, makes the journey go so much smoother than without :shocked
