Rear bench position

On a T6.1 can the rear bench be in any position with the kids travelling on it ? i.e is there a particular position for safety ?

Can be in any position, as the seat belts are part of the sliding seat unit.

There is only 1 defined position and that's for making up the lower bed.

Not sure about the SE/Ocean, but there are several defined positions in the 3 seat bench Beach.

Back to the shortened multiflex, back to the extended multiflex, 5 seat bed position, short 7 seat bed position, medium 7 seat bed position , long 7 seat bed position (some of the above might be the same).

I agree, but if you are Not making up the bed then there is No defined position when travelling.

in our handover yesterday our dealer stated it could sit anywhere along the rails as its only the combination of pulling the handle & shuffling along with your feet that moves the whole seat.

If you have kids, it can be very usefull to move the bench forward so you can reach them without having to get out of your seatbelt. And it also makes it possible to store much more stuff behind the bench.

Or open escape hatches on dog crates when towing... as the tailgate clashes with the caravan hand break.
As always, horses for courses. If I knew I would have 4 dogs and a caravan, plus my best friend retiring so needing extra sleeing space... I would have gone for a Beach first time round. It offers much more flexibility in bench seat position and function. But in the UK that is compromised by less choice on other options (no hydraulic roof, no 199/204 engine and no 4 motion).
I know I’m off topic. But wanted to add that in case anyone else is looking at Beach options.

First thing I did was remove the front and back rail stops to allow the bench even more travel

From your info you have a T5 SE? The Beach has much more flexibility in the movement.
@Ladymuck it says looking to buy in your details and I know that’s not correct as you have been in build for, well forever. If there isn’t an option for what your current status on what you have ordered please let us know. Obviously we can’t have everything.
@calikev can you advise. I may missed the options...

I had the same issue so left mine as 2016 T6 Ocean until last week (I part exchanged in July)...

So if you don’t have kids or other things. In the Ocean, the back stop is against the back / panel. In the forward position it is where the bed perfectly fits when bench laid flat.

I don’t know where the stops are in a Coast. And haven’t yet investigated mine in a T6.1 Beach.
So if anyone finds they are different from before. Please share.
