Due to the problems, we had with our GC when we brought it (all now fixed from the local VW centre) the selling dealer offered to extend the warranty for a further 12 months.

They are now stating that this is not possible on the GC, has anyone managed to extend their GC VW warranty with VW?
Thanks

You can only extend the factory warranty within 3 months of first registration. VW are very strict on this, to the day exactly.
I’m surprised the dealer offered this, clearly they got it wrong, as VW won’t do it.
You could try going to VW Uk with your issues and what the dealer offered.

Other option is to see if you can get the “all in” when the vehicle is old enough to qualify. If this is an option then perhaps the dealer can contribute to the cost of this plan.
Obviously the factory warranty is 3 years and you can’t take out an all in until that 3 year warranty is to coming to an end. How old is your GC?

Luckily mine came with 4 years warranty 4 years roadside assistance and 4 services. All said no serious issues except the known issues.

Due to the problems we’ve experienced VW Costumer services have offered to make a contribution to an additional warranty after it expires; I need to get a quote from VW then they will inform me the amount they are wiling to contribute, I have to purchase it then they will reimburse me. The quote will vary depending the vehicle’s mileage.
It’s been a long drawn out process as they initially refused. I ended up writing to the head of VW UK and Brand Director.
I’ll look at their offer in the new year when the Warranty expires but still remain dissatisfied with how I’ve been treated.
Take a look at Trust Pilot re VW Customer services
Good luck

Forgot to mention if you threaten legal action or go to the Ombudsman it’s a red flag for customer services and they won’t engage with you.

All.
Thanks for the information, will get out the writing pad I think
