My 2010 5.1 without stop/start needs a new engine bay battery.

Any recommendations please for type & brand of battery along with online sellers.

Thanks

Or put your Reg into below (or AA site) for all options, and then price check on google:

You usually get free fitting AA / RAC member. Advantage is if the battery needs replacing during battery warranty period, they just come out to you and test the old one / replace...which is not easy if you have purchased / DIY fit, so sometimes worth paying the small premium.

Just info for anyone with a T6
VW Assist Guy said that they will fit and code in "correctly" free if you have VW Assist Membership but charge for a VW spec battery if out of warranty period which would be £333 for my T6 a few months ago. Not replaced as yet merely enquired.
Place call as 'having trouble starting'.

Ours was fitted by the RAC, they said coding was not required for ours (2012 Blue motion, non start/stop). They also carried out a full diagnostic test on the van, but this cost me a cup of tea.

If it doesn't have stop/start it isn't blue motion. The four changes for Bluemotion vans were the addition as standard of Stop/Start, low rolling resistance tyres, "intelligent" alternator & Cruise control.
Apart from the 114ps beach ( easily identified by the 5 speed gearbox) Bluemotion didn't appear until 2013 on a Uk Cali.

Our 2012 (62 plate) 6 speed - is badged bluemotion, bluemotion stated on V5. No start / stop, no cruise control.

Believe early bluemotion referred to 6 speed, suggested gear on MFD. (Ie - up/down arrow, gear number displayed) & factory tyre type.

Be careful..... I bought a Tanya when I thought I had a battery issue. I never changed it and I have it in the garage but its a tad bigger than the original..

will check tonight.

Did this recently and opted for Bosch Type 115 S5A11 (AGM 80Ah) battery. £151.66 plus £8.89 delivery. Ordered at 11.20 a.m on Dec 23rd, it was on my doorstep when I got up at 8.30 a.m on Dec 24th.
Dimensions about 1cm in length and width greater than the Varta original, but plenty of room for fitting with no problems except weight of battery.

£110 delivered in two days.

This is the one I used to replace the original in a T5.1 2010 SE, its within a few mm an exact fit

Use Tanya batteries all the time best by far for me varta battery

I always use Tayna. The tray on my T6 will take a battery larger than the OEM fit which I have done and I think gave me 95Ah. It uses up the entire tray width. I did have to add some more insulation with Velcro straps but it all works great.
