Aluminium composite worktops

Look absolutely fab they do

Very nice, do the panels come pre cut?
Can the adhesive be seen when the lids are lifted?

They look great, practical and smart.

Be careful when cooking though, we bought frosted plastic film covers for ours - first time cooking and the plastic on the sink cover melted!

With hindsight you might say that would obviously happen, but we use the sink cover as a worktop when cooking, so it really needs to be down.

I wouldn't expect the aluminium to melt, but the glue might ?

Made them myself, bought enough for 2 sets so I have a set spare.

Covered the easy to scratch glass tops today In aluminium composite, this will also protect them should anything get dropped on them. They finish the tops of Nicely in the T6.1

Good job on the work top protectors but those black hooks have caught my eye, look really useful. I need some of those, can you share the source pse?

I made these myself, and I use some clear 3m tabs to hold them in place. I’m more concerned with the scratches in the glass and any damage if anything is dropped on them.

They will be ok for that, as long as a lid is not shut with a burner on.

Material spec and how did you cut them?

Looks like 3mm Dibond or similar. You can cut it with a Stanley knife, but it takes a few passes.

Where exactly online did you buy the material?

They look like these ones:

They state “Supplied with 4 x 15mm Clear adhesive pads that simply attach to the glass without damage - barely visible when the worktops are open.“
I have those, looks like the same material the OP has used. Really nice finish and so far have held up great. Not sure I have the skill/patience to cut them to fit!
