Any advice? We had a fault on our 70 plate Ocean which started in January 2022. The reading on the display unit showed 0 hours of battery life left even when the battery was full. And so started our journey with VW. They ordered a part (display unit) - not in stock. It finally arrived in stock about a month ago. So they changed the display unit and it still didn't work. So they ordered a new control panel which arrived last Thursday. They tried to fit that but didn't have a code??????? So here we are today.
We asked them to retro fit the old system because we need the van TOMORROW for our holiday. But, guess what, they can't get the electric roof to work now.
What would you do? What should we do? Thanks

Well, honestly I wouldn't know. I can only hope with you that the roof works before tomorrow. It is sad to read how the roof - although this is by no means for everyone, I know - causes problems and can even cause a trip to be canceled or end prematurely. And let this be the reason why I bought a coast with its manual roof.
Doesn't help you, but again: I'm rooting for you.

We have tried the dealer - they can't access loan vans at all apparently

U.K. or abroad holiday ?

tell the dealer you will hire a van, to salvage your holiday and you expect them to pay, VW have been unable to fix yours Van For over Six Months !

if you loose the Holiday go see a solicitor with regard to small claims court

VW should / could step in and provide a Van :
I know for a fact there is a stock VW Ocean at Marshalls in Reading it was at Stoner Park on the trade Display.
I bet VW HQ can locate some in the U.K. if they wanted to.

Bigger picture: Give VW a firm time frame to either fix the Van for good or start legal action As the Van is not fit for purpose and Cannot be fixed by VW despite trying various things.

The more electronics, the more it can break, unfortunately, that's why I ordered the coast version instead ocean, so that the roof could be easily lifted by hand, the old display may not be so nice but it breaks more often, but this is the opinion of the VW service.

Good news (and bad). The good news is that VW did eventually get the roof working again by applying a reset - pretty basic I would say. So last weekend's trip could, and next week's can, go ahead as planned. The bad news is that the fault which presented in January and started all this is still there...! I think it is something to do with the battery terminals and I'm sure someone posted something about this but I can't find that post now? (Display shows 0hrs remaining but battery image - with the blue bars - appears to be working)

Suggest you post a photo of your control panel graphic
