Hello, a last minute question:
Tomorrow morning we will leave for Le Shuttle Eurotunnel and in the UK -after a visit to your Queen and Harry Potter- we will visit the South West England region and go to Land's End. Anyone have any tips for the area (especially the more southern parts Devon/Cornwall) and/or Land's End?

Gwynver Beach is lovely, north end of Sennen Cove, which is about 9 miles from Penzance. Steep walk down to the Beach, or park at Sennen Cove and walk north up the beach.

Follow the A30 around the outskirts of Penzance, then follow the A30 to Sennen Cove and Lands End. About a mile before the turning to Sennen Cove, take a right turning for the Gwynver car park.

Wander round Newlyn Harbour, few nice pubs around there.

Also recommend visiting one of the old tin mines.
 
Beer, in south Devon is a nice village, and has nice pubs and bars, for a beer in Beer, good restaurants and there’s a caravan park - mainly statics, but it has around 20 touring pitches. Great fresh seafood for sale at the harbour.

Don’t miss Lizard Point! Far better than Lands End.
 
I’d also recommend Gwynver beach, next to Sennen, and there’s a lovely campsite called Trevedra just above it, it gets fabulous sunsets. There’s some other great beaches around there, Portheras, Nanjizal are both beautiful.
Lands End is a bit commercialised.
If you’d like to visit St Ives, which is pretty and has some good art, the best way is often to drive to St Erth and catch the train, it’s a very short ride with a lovely view as you come in to St Ives and much much easier to park there than in St Ives itself.
The Lizard area is very nice and often quieter than other areas.

I’ve never stayed here but driven past a few times…… looks good and very handy for the Lizard area

We normally stay at Polmanter Touring Park when in St Ives, top class facilities, a lovely quite lane walk into town and buses or cheap taxis back up the hill, sea views from most pitches and heated swimming pool in summer.
Ayr holiday park is in St Ives itself but more basic though still OK.

If you have any interest in seeing gardens, this region has some famously lavish ones. Trelissick, Trebah, Glendugan, Heligan. At Heligan there’s a touring site also called Heligan which is one of the best we’ve stayed (also can walk into Mevagissey for pubs, shops and eating places).
 
If you're heading right down to the Lands End / Penzance end of Cornwall then there's so much good stuff to do, and I'd agree with a lot of the suggestions so far. But I'd also suggest a trip over to St. Michaels Mount from Marazion (by boat or causeway depending on the tide). And for something a bit different in the same area, Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens is worth a look.
 
I would not bother with Land's end. While the views out to sea are great the Land's end facility itself is 100% horrible - the sooner they pull it down the better. As said the Lizard is worth a visit and a walk along the coast, St Michael's Mount, Minack, Bedruthan Steps near Padstow, hire a bike in Padstow and cycle up the estuary and then onto Bodmin, Eden Project, Falmouth and Foey are worth a visit, the north coast is much more spectacular than the south coast (walk past the old tin mines), Bodmin moor and as said must try the pasties. Have a Cornish cream tea and a Devon cream tea, which one is best? Just some thoughts. Have fun.

Agree re the above & Land's End too commercialised.
An alternative, go through St Just to Cape Cornwall, use National Trust Car Park - (Small Fee payable, free for members Annie the attendant is a mine of information). Walk SW to Lands End, or walk 'North', through the World Heritage Mining Landscape to Pendeen Lighthouse. Great views & if the sea is calm the opportunity for Seal, Basking Shark, and Dolphin / Porpoise sightings. Take Binoculars!
 
Thank you all for the tips; what a response, wonderful! I remember: Lizard point, pasties, Penzance, theatre, beautiful beaches, coves, harbours, pubs/beer, a mine, seafood/restaurants, gardens, St Michael's mountain, a lighthouse, beautiful views and we have binoculars to spot sea creatures. We’re are very curious :cool:
 
We enjoyed the Eden Project. Had a good time climbing Commando Ridge too. Some great beaches.

hello, what a hospitality; I am reading this now after our visit to your queen's castle in Windsor (which was very beautiful by the way / we visited Balmoral years ago, also recommended). Tomorrow we will indeed visit the Warner Bros studios because our 7 year old daughter is a big fan and it is a surprise for her. Now we eat at a restaurant Miller & Carter (good food) and can stay here overnight. Thank you very much for your offer. That's very kind!

An excellent suggestion.

Book tickets in advance. Evenings can be very wet and cold. Booking on a dry day can make the experience more enjoyable. It will be COLD! very COLD! so take blankets and food and a small cushion to make your bum more comfortable.

At Porthcurno, do not miss on PK - Porthcurno - https://pkporthcurno.com/ - the Museum of Global Communication. Very very interesting. Entrance is £10 per adult and that gives you full -day parking at PK for £3.50 and you can walk to the beach from there.

PK - a mustsee in my opinion.
 
Stop in Dorset on your way through! Some great places to stay and see in the Purbecks. Amongst the more famous are Lulworth Cove, Corfe Castle and Durdle Door. There is a campsite very close to Durdle Door called Durdle Door holiday park. The lucky early campervans can get cliff top sea views. https://durdledoor.co.uk
 
Nobody has mentioned hw narrow some of the roads might be, so just a practical tip from me is to be aware of that when planing routes and alternative options. But I'm afraid I don't have specific details...just wanted to make sure it's in your mind. Beware the idiots.
